I think you are not allowed to edit his map, but you are allowed to do your own indochina map, and we can choose what map we want in the site. Remember that in the Developmental Atlas Indochina is classified as suspended development, ie, its not finished.

I find the major city bonus slightly gimicky but I can't complain I guess. I was hoping you were just going to do a bit of an art update to it, but I can see this being a lot better then the origional as it stands right now.

i made the major city bonus so players have 2 battle over all areas of the map and the new north contenent is to reduce the souths advantage...what i am trying 2 do is make sure the bottle neck is less important...do u like the graphics??? and the new playability?

I think everything is great, I just wasn't sure about the city bonus, but that has never really been my thing and it seems popular with most players so I don't really feel the need to press that issue.

I don't like this map. Once you take Tonkin and north laos and hold it by using Ha Tihn and Bolikhamxai you're going to get a huge bonus of 8 plus a minimum of 4 troops making you unstoppable.

The problem is once you take North laos you can easily grab hanoi for a bonus of 4 and that will give you 7 troops a round to take over Tonkin.

That and the bonuses are adjacent and one has 7 and the other has 5 whch makes absolutely no sense to me... playability wise the map doesn't appeal to me becase everything has a ton of borders and it looks like the game would be based on the luck ofthe dice or whoever gets the first bonus.

The other battle will take place down in the south where people will go for Phnom and Phan Thiet which would give you 2 troops with 2 borders making it more appealing than the actual bonus territory of Chochinchina. So with those extra troops you get from that you can turn it into a bonus of +4 per round by taking the rest of chochinchina. 2 borders, 4 territories and +4? This looks about as appealing as stepping in dog shit on a hot day.

If you take Cochinchina and phnom penh, you would get a bonus of 4 amd pnly need to defend 2 borders. Alsl there is no important city star in South Laos.

EDIT: ahh...molacole beat me to it on the Cochinchina/phnom penh problem

no and I would never play it lol. The bonuses are all out of wack and the map bottle necks in the middle turning this map into a strategiclly gimped sloppy drawing that looks like it was copied off the intenet, thickened the borders, filled with paint in mspaint, and had the territory names rotated.

That and whoever gets the south wins the game...

Forget about the people who do not like the Indochina map. They will never give you any good feedback because they are biased and they will always hate the map no matter how much improved it is. It is a matter of taste and they do not like it.

Personally I like what you have done about it BUT there are too many cities and the bonus for getting them is TOO high. Some player might get an unfair advantage at the start if they drop on all or most of them and then get to start for example.

Limit those cities to 2 or 3 at most. Consider making the bonus applicable if you hold all 3 of them and then make it only a +2 bonus for example. Also consider some sea links...those could add another dimension to the map.

Good luck!
