If any company spammed my in email inbox.I'd be straight on the phone to them or I would click the spam icon. What makes conquerclub any different.we do not have a spam icon and multiple messages happen far to often ?
What cayman has said in an amusing way is funny .Never the less. Its still an issue and shouldn't happen.
Is he also saying that he has lost his 100% turn taken, because if all the games got deleted surely this would have been over turned too ?
I do not think its a stupid complaint. This is a gaming site and we come here to have fun.
Cayman is having fun.

I agree. There is a map, it was not supposed to be public so there are no longer any games that are public, since your games got deleted.. nice circular movement here.
Clearly, there is no intentional abuse going on here. However, with all respect for the administrators, I do get the impression that some mistakes have been made.
First of all, if only specific members were supposed to start games on the world cup map at that time, only those specific members should have had the ability to do so. Aren't the members who should have had the ability all members of the entertainment team? Why isn't it possible to change the privileges of the entertainment team to allow them to create games on closed maps?
The administration made a mistake in giving members abilities they shouldn't have had. These abilities did not cause any significant damage to the site, however. The fix they've chosen is rather brutal, and is unnecessarily punishing players who did essentially nothing wrong.
Thirdly, if the messages cayman received are the only messages he received on the matter, they did a very poor job of explaining the situation to him. None of the games became corrupted, it's just that he created the games when he shouldn't have been able to. A single message explaining that he shouldn't have been able to create those games, and that they have been deleted because of this might have solved at least some of his complaints.
Finally, he does have a point that he unnecessarily received multiple similar messages. It would have been far better if a single message had been sent saying "the following games have been deleted", rather then the same message being sent multiple times. This may be impossible to do because these messages are sent automatically, however.

Why isn't it possible to change the privileges of the entertainment team to allow them to create games on closed maps? No-one can make games on closed maps - the map HAS to be opened first. To change this, I'm sure a lot of work would have to be done to alter the site. Lack has more important things to concentrate on than this.

Problem here is what?

It wasn't just cayman who created games, but the players know what went on. They're not idiots and they know the reason for the deletion.

Maybe something that needs to be looked at for future incidents though!
Everyone is making a big issue out of nothing. From an IT perspective, I understand that the game is coded to either allow games on that map to be created or not. They HAD to allow games to be created so that the TO's could make the tourney maps. Unfortunately, at the same time, Cayman happened to see that he was able to create games on the map, and did so. Although he really likes the map, he shouldnt even have been able to create it in the first place.
Next someone is going to say well why don't they just change it so only some people can access the maps some of the time. The answer is in the question. It's a highly specific and rather use. They could do so many better things with their time.
Cayman, I understand where you're coming from. You were excited because you created those games, and played them. They brought your turns taken percentage to 100, and you won some of them. However, IF you increased your turn taken percentage with just 19 games, I don't think it will matter because before long it will be at 100 again anyways. and the points won on the map were unfair. The whole reason the map isn't public use is because we aren't sure if the gameplay is balanced. That's why, it would be like if someone farmed for 19 games for instance.(I know, bad example)
On to the PM's. That's an automatic feature that again, gets used so rarely(let alone 19 times at once) that there is no point in changing it. I suppose you could code it so that it just pm'ed you once if multiple games were deleted, but again, why waste time on a basically useless piece of code.
They deleted the games because they were created in a loophole. Well now the loophole is gone, and so are the games. No amount of bitching or whining is going to bring them back, nor the points or the win percentage. they are gone for good and could not be un-deleted even if they wanted to, which they don't.

Well, what I mean is, a lot of people are accusing the OP of abusing the system, and I'm trying to point out that he can't be at fault, given this post.

It was an abuse of the system in that he made games that weren't supposed to be made. But it wasn't a punished abuse of the system in the same vein as farming or point dumping. I hope that distinction is more clear.

Well, we have to try and make something interesting out of a nothing-thread don't we? Does cayman really think admin are going to be busted for spamming his CONQUER CLUB Inbox? An inbox which admin has allowed him to have use of?

When it is opened in this way, it is intended for the use only of myself, Gilligan and amazzony. While everyone else is ABLE to make games during this short window, those games are not sanctioned through the official channels like ours have been. THAT is why the games were deleted. You are not being punished for creating the games!
Night Strike wrote:Because they weren't supposed to be played. The rules explicitly stated that the map was only to be played during the World Cup except for the officially sanctioned tournament. When the map was temporarily reopened to make those tournament games, all non-tournament games were not sanctioned and had to be eliminated.
I think things have already been fully explained about what happened. Points were returned from those games which you shouldn't have created in the first place. If you think you were spammed with the wrong message when those games got deleted, we apologize for that. Those messages were automatically sent whenever a game is deleted. This matter is closed and locked.
