Why those four?

Pikachu - The classic Pokémon
Slowpoke & Seaking - Memes. Slowpoke because of the slowpoke-headed people everywhere, especially on CC. And Seaking because of F*ck Yeah Seaking.
Weezing - James' partner in crime for much of the first and second (I think) seasons. Weezing's also my favorite Pokémon, so yeah.

Well, Pokemon was not around in the early 60's when I was 6 years old. So I do not have any ties whatsoever to it. The closest thing to it that we had back then, was Speed Racer, or Kimba, or Johny Quest. I believe that some of those were Japanese animation. I kinda liked the Kimba song, but can not remember how it went. I do remember the Speed Racer song though.
