Yeah when I got my Lt rank I was like holy f*ck yes! Cause nobody thought I would make it there. Shoved their mouth right up their ass!
Highest Rank: Lieutenant | Highest Score: 1641

Well in that respect everything on here is pointless, its just a game to pass the time in between wives.
The only use for medals I think is if your evaluating a player for a clan, if they don't have any team medals then you can assume that they haven't played very many team games. Also they give you something to do if your bored. The scoring system isn't that good either, and never could be unless there was only 1 map and one of each setting, and only singles games.
Okay... in a site where everything is pointless, other pointless aspects such as signatures and the point system look at medals and say "Wow, he makes the Kardashians' contribution to society seem valuable."

I find major a very easy rank to stay at when I'm playing games I'm decent at (teams and 6+ esc.) so that's where I like to be. I"m usually down in points when I"m having fun or in a lot of demanding tournys, which are usually pretty fun. I feel terrible when I fall below captain, but I live with the idea that I've been colonel and know I could go back, so that makes me feel better So I guess captain for me is the "good enough" rank and major is the pretty good rank.

Well this is not entirely accurate. I play the same games/types of games as I have since I joined CC. I was on the verge of being a Brig until a miserable random streak slapped me down but I am quite confident I will have a bird playing the exact same public sequential no spoils games I have always played.
Now as far as what is a good rank. Most 1st sargents and higher you can/should expect game on! I know of many sarges that are very competent. Many players that are Capt/Lt/Sarge play a lot of low win % stuff just cuz they are having fun.
Of course there are high rankers that just couldn't maintain/achieve the rank with out some shady tactics or being map specific. Not much fun in that.
You are playing mainly team games... ofc you can make brig by playing public games. That is the counter to playing private games. Try playing people of your skill level and see how long your rank last. Majors, Colonels and brigs. Beating up on cooks makes you no better than the next person.
Well bruce I'm not sure what your trying to say here. The great majority of my games are vs sgt and higher. Most are against established teams. I rarely see cooks and ? and cadets.
I play many of my skill level. As for rank there are fewer and fewer of the same rank as one climbs the totem pole.
Now if you ever want to lose some points feel free to join some of my games...

I was always happy with myself at sergeant first class, but I do like the diamond next to my name. When I get to major for a few days, I'm proud as hell. Above that requires way too much work.
Georgerx7di wrote:Major. If you want a short answer, that is it.
Long answer. You can find the median rank by going to score board and going to the middle page, (I think there's about 80 pages, so page 40 would be the middle). On this page you will find the median, which I think is like 2 stripes or something. That might be seargeant, I don't know the striper ranks since they changed them. So if you are above that (whatever it really is), then that's above average.
Generally however people who have been here for a while only distinguish between striper (really means enlisted ranks) and officer, (Lt or above). Some good players fall to captain or Lt, when they are medals hunting, but people know who they are so it doesn't matter. The important thing is that they were able to attain a higher rank when they wanted to.
So people who are captains or Lt's are sometimes good players. But as a general rule if you are a Major people expect that you know how play. To get much higher than major you have to be selective with games. See my thread on point manipulation http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewto ... 6&t=104964 for more on being selective. This is why when good players stop caring what they are playing and join anything they often go back down to major, although not always.
This is the best answer to this question. Major is a variable rank, achieved by all around solid players, but also one-map/setting wonders. If achieved by playing every game or a variety of maps, the player is good. If achieve by specializing...take it for what you think it's worth.
I have a CC mug right now Ironically that says AAFitz Major. I was annoyed with it at first, though its the most useful rank to maintain. It allows any decent player to play nearly whatever they want within reason assuming a relatively general understanding of the game, and a broad enough selections of games to offset games one cannot expect to win points playing.
The lower ranks can be a lot of fun though, but Its hard for me to stay there. The higher ranks can be fun too, but require a little more selection of what one can play. At major I can play any game I want and offset it very easily with a few types of games.
I must admit, my mug is correct.
I'm Spanking Monkey now....err...I mean I'm a Spanking Monkey now...that shoots milk Too much. I know.
