Does anyone know if smoking pot during teen and/or pre-teen years affects growth? I ask because back in high school I played football with this guy who was about 5'4" with very short legs. The rumor was the guy used to smoke weed when he was 13, 14, 15 years old and that's why he was a veritable midget. The pot stunted his growth.

I also punched him in the face during practice (and by "face" I mean "helmet") because he clipped me. I hated that stunted little bastard.

Well, I haven't read anything that would suggest that cannabis itself would stunt growth, but smoking in general is known to do so. So the question remains, would his growth have stunted if he had consumed his cannabis p.o.?

Then again the shortness may well have been a genetic trait. Who knows.

i used to love lsd, and E years ago. i had some great times on them, i admit. on a good trip the world was mine to play with. i've also rode a motorbike at over 120mph without a helmet, jumped off a bridge into a rat infested canal and thought a bird i picked up had a beard midway through shagging her (naturally i stopped to check), whilst high. what i'm trying to say is all drugs do is give you the belief that you're invincible, and none of us are.

i have also seen people die from drugs. one over dosed. another got into some heavy shit and couldn't handle it, he drove his car into a wall. a few outward going friends of mine personalities have also changed, for the worse!

i doubt any of the young kiddies who read your shit think you're cool. so maybe you coming out with all this will crap will put them off drugs for life. that could be the new anti-drug advert "want to try drugs? listen to heavycola".

my contribution was aimed towards the younger readers, i have kids now and wouldn't want them taking drugs. hence, me giving a couple of examples of the things i did when i was younger.

But in fact I agree with you in one respect: kids shouldn't take drugs. Kids shouldn't take alcohol or tobacco either, some would go so far as to say kids shouldn't drink coffee (I wouldn't though, reasonable coffee usage never hurt anyone.)

But f*ck if you're stupid enough to think that you can scare them into not doing drugs with your make-believe stories about riding a motorcycle without a helmet while fucking some bearded lady, then you're really stupider than I thought. These scare-tactics have been used since the 60:s, they didn't work then or any other decade, they are not going to work today either.

If you want people to be responsible about recreational drugs (including alcohol) you need to educate them and give them correct information, so they can make informed choices. Trying to "scare the kids straight", all this "just say no" bullshit, is not going to work, and the sooner people realize that the better. Harm reduction is the future.
