Nobody here understands the meaning of bigotry. The use of a slur is not the definition of bigotry. When an African American sings about "Ni***rs" in song, is he being bigoted against other black people? Bigotry is far deeper than a simple phrase.
In reality, this whole thread is a baiting/witch hunt against hairy potter, started by jefjef in retribution for hairy's thread against owenshooter's offensive avatar. If no action is taken against hairy potter, then jefjef should stand to be punished for a spurious, baiting report.

harry potter was foed by jef jef. a couple of days later he starts this thread.(why is he looking at a foed players wall) this proves my point that jefjef goes about trolling players he does not like baiting them into flaming him back and gets of scott free for it while the players that flame the bait get a ban or warning. i think it is about time cc mods teach jefjef a leason for doing this.

I'm not easily offended, but I extend bigotry to include pejorative usage. Guess it all started in college when one of our closest friends came out and kindly asked people to not use the term "That's gay" around him as the connotation offended him. I took it to heart and I've made sure to not use terms like that anymore (similar to the push to stop using the phrase "That's retarded").
I'd have no problem with your example, but it doesn't really fit here. A better comparison would be someone saying "Jobs are for ni***rs", which I hardly think would fly.

This is more akin to saying "Jobs are for dogs." Dogs has been used an offensive word for women for a long time, but I bet anyone would hardly take issue with this. Had he said "jobs are for bitches." I could see how this would merit getting your panties in a bunch. To start a C&A over the use of the word "poofs" is ridiculous. What if I referred to black people as ninjas? Does that merit punishment. Hardly just as poofs shouldn't. The real issue is that this is jefjef's way of fighting back in yet another one of his bitchfests.

If you want to force him to change it based on the fact that it's insulting, that's opening another Pandora's Box, but by definition it is not bigotry.

The "F" word is banned and punished. The "N" word is banned and punished. Slurs against nationalities are punished.
Recognized variations of slurs are also and should be punished regardless of if it is used directly at someone or not.
