it was only -1 degrees c on saturday whilst i was painting my pedro piece, but boy did it feel colder. I was wearing gloves and my hands were still too cold to operate a spray can after a couple of hours. 10 minutes of having ungloved hands in my jean pockets soon sorted my hands out.
Spent all day being rained on by leaves as the frost and the cold prised the leaves away from the tree
Ouch! We've only been down just below zero, so far this year.
That's not all even, I live near to the coast so we also get that nifty freezing wind from the sea. There have also been snowstorms these last few days.
Mostly I just try to stay inside as much as possible.

I live on the coast too (a large peninsula, actually), and that actually helps moderate our climate, but when it does get cold, it really fucking sucks. A day at -18 in central Canada is not so bad, as long as you can bundle up, and cover exposed skin, but the same temperature here comes with a dampness that chills right to the bone. I'd like to say I hate winter, but as an avid skier, I would be lying.
Speaking of cold. I often journey to the north of Sweden to visit relatives. a few years ago at New Year when I was there it was minus 34'C. Now that gentlemen is COLD. At least in theory. But I tell you, we got a new place by the sea here in Gothenburg, and it's like minus 5'C today, and it's bone numbingly cold. worst I've ever been through taking a walk by the sea with that wind coming in...

So you got a new holiday place & you go there for leisure time & take a walk by the sea for pleasure? At minus 5!?!?

on another note....the navy have so many ships in dock at the moment and health and safety won't allow the work needed to be done on them to get them back out. hell we could easily be invaded by anyone. oh, i forgot we already have been!
