Iran's U.N. Mission Outraged at 300

"Iran's U.N. Mission expressed outrage at the "deliberate distortions" of ancient Persia in the blockbuster movie "300" and said it was part of Western efforts to demonize Iran."

This may be the most ignorant thing I've seen in a while, it was told from the point of view of a Spartan soldier, so of course it would slam the Persians. Does iran just want to be hated? It would take a pretty well educated person to even make the connection from Persians to Iran and if they could do that they would know that's a biased portrayal.

I think Iran should release those British sailors instead of whining about a movie. This is the country that the US should have attacked and not Iraq in my humble opinion. This is the country that is really threatening to destabilise the whole region...and something must be done about it.

From my perspective (a 12 year old) I think that Iran is trying to maintain any image it may have left after all of this nuclear enrichment stuff. Or maybe theyr are just making more enemies so that if they go nuclear they have a half-valid excuse.

I'm 13 and think that Iran are not building nuclear weapons and just something to point out U.K are building nuclear weapons and U.S have nuclear weapons but are allowed
Isreal have them but are not allowed It's obvious favouritism here

Hardly. The point is not to universally disarm, it's to stop even more people from having the capability to blow up the earth. Favouritism doesn't come into it.

Hence why Humanity is stupid, say if someone had nuclear capabilites, they have a testing ground and suddenly another nation notices this, they panic and want to know why they are testing nukes and may consider war and launch their own nukes to stop this, then said nation that was nuked may just fire their own, soon they both launch everything they have at once ending the world (Note it only takes 20 or more nukes to kill everything on this planet)
Eventually this will happen, some terrorist dip shit is going to have something come into his head and build nukes and launch it at a country they deem unworthy or wrong or its God's work blah blah blah...Thats my worst case scenario

i thought everyone had nukes nowadays.

i have three, one for the week, one for the weekend and a spare one for special occasions.

but i just use them as a deterrant to stop my neighbour using his.

i would never launch mine first. (unless i was pissed. or bored. or both)

this is the way the world works. i think.

That's why I don't encourage disarmament, at least not totally. I do support restricting the spread of nuclear arms though - as someone else said, we can't afford to let maniacs get a hold of them... So we shoudn't let Iran build them

If the world was a school, Iran would be a nerd. They dont like many others company (except Jordan and Syria). Bu this "nerd" is not to be messed with. if you make fun of them (america) then they will come to school with a gun and kill you. Iran is a rascist, Anti-semetic country that should be left alone. That's a bit of a sweeping statement, to say that Iran is a racist and anti-Semitic country? I get the impression that a lot of the population is actually pretty pro-American. You can't assume that just because the elected president comes out with racist remarks for electoral gain that the rest of the country is like that. If I did that, I'd assume that Americans were all brain-dead militaristic hicks.

dam its hard to say something here but I understand what your saying. I was trying to say that the citizens of Iran are fine and mostly peaceful, but the government has made them to hate jews just like the Holocaust and the nazis. Im not making any comparisons because they are very different, but they both have the same basic goal- to kill the jews. i am jewish and I am pretty sure I'm right.

Well, I just said all that, because like I said, you get all sorts on here, and just from a couple of paragraphs alone, you can't tell where a particular person is coming from.

Though, I don't think you can compare Iran with Hitler's regime. There are still tens of thousands of Jews living in Iran, and though I wouldn't be surprised if they were discriminated against - I don't think the Iranian government wants to kill them all. Ahmadinejad might say horrendous things & organise these conferences, but he is just the elected president, and as far as power goes - he is little more than a figurehead. I get the impression that lies with the Ayatollah.

I'm just saying all that because I get the impression that what the Iranian government says seems to get more publicised these days, which makes me wonder if it's all another process of softening us all up for war, or military action.
