Holy crap, I saw this thread, and was just coming here to condemn whoever started it, and question why it is still up.

Hmmm... not sure if this group has a useful function. Spelling and grammar sure is terrible on this site, but it's equally bad everywhere on the Internet. Contempt for proper format in anything seems to be part of today's zeitgeist. The question is, "can anything be done about it?" The answer is, "no." So what are we going to do about it? Pretty much what can be done..... zippo, zilch, nada, bupkis.

But if we're just going to hang out and feel superior, then count me in! I'm an expert at feeling superior!

I see so far everybody in this group is a Yankee... you're not going to try to impose your filthy American spellings of words like "honour" and "valour" and "colour" on me, are you? Because I have REALLY strong feelings about those...

Every time I'm browsing the forums and I see this title it makes me smile. The Fascist Movement of Grammar Nazis [Fascist] suggests that there are others that we need to distinguish ourselves from, like The Fascist Movement of Grammar Nazis [Marxist] and The Fascist Movement of Grammar Nazis [Baptist-Reformed] and The Fascist Movement of Grammar Nazis [Dadaist].
