This is the only reason i am pushing to get our home games filled. We are a very organized clan so when i accepted our next war i based start time on this wars start time. We will continue to wait i just want a date in which we do not have to wait any longer. As for their home games, i don't care if they are not yet filled, they sent them to me and they were not even due yet. I would just like to make sure the 5 home games of ours that were posted 10 days ago get filled. I don't mean to be a pain, i just want things to get underway so i can keep our clan organized. No offense to either party but I'm not really surprised to see the delays. I don't know why anyone really expected it to run so smoothly? With an event such as this with regards to newcomers to the clan scene it's surprising that most of the other duels are going relatively hitch-free.

After all, if you look at the reality of the situation, WD are likely having this as their first challenge if I remember correctly, and I doubt very much that very many of them have ever been in clan situations before (which is obviously not the case with The Pack). Namor did correctly point out that they have 13 players, but it's just as unlikely that all of them are active either (similarly to usergroups) so it gives a pretty grim picture of what needs to be done on their organizing side.

I'm not really inclined to penalize them too harshly, since the clans should have entered these games (and the tourney) with the understanding that this is an all-too possible scenario, and after all isn't the point of this competition to assist these clans in their development? And it wouldn't really be that fair if people went the penalization route that greenoaks mentions and Pack were awarded the victory willy-nilly
I'm sure if shane can continue in his role in mentoring some of these new clans that the situation will be resolved satisfactorily.

I would agree with you totally if this was their first challenge but it isn't.

Secondly, this may be the Newcomers Cup, but it still had posted rules upon signing up. We are not asking for special treatment here, we simply want some sort of deadline set so we are not waiting till April for these games to fill. The best mentors need to have set rules, and adhere to them. I think this challenge is very well run, BUT I have been asking for a deadline since the 7 days was up last Saturday, and i still have no response. I don't want to win those games by forfeit, but i also don't want to wait another week to get them filled.

Leehar, i disagree with you.. The Pack as a new clan (our first challenge against KOA) we joined those games within 24 hours when they were made, both home and away, we were excited about our clan and about our wars... if clans are gonna be lazy as balls when they just start, that clan will be broken within 6 months... don't waste your time.

Yeah, it's much better to have a new clan that's actually willing to join the wars it agreed to, get so disgusted and discouraged that others aren't joining the wars they agree to, that the clan that WAS joining the wars says, "screw this, we withdraw," so that the clan that wasn't joining its wars wins by default. Yeah, that's much better.

Of course, another way to look at a series of challenges like this is, it's a way to teach new clans what they should be doing. Give a larger graceperiod for joining, perhaps, than would typically be found, but not a "forever" pass.


At any rate, based on the gamecount, you're doing well, Pack, keep it up!
