Concise description:

• Have a toggle switch that allows you to see if people are typing in Live Chat.

Specifics/Details:

• It would just give you a notice saying something like, "Victor Sullivan is typing..." I hate it when I'm in like a private conversation and we have like two conversations going at the same time because one person took too long to type their response.

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:

• Gets rid of annoying overlapping conversation, especially in private chats.

I concur this would be usefull for private rooms and then only 1 on1. with 100 persons typing at the same time this would be a bit... much...

Yeah, private chats would probably be best, but maybe you could at least turn it on in Social if you wanted to, but it would auto-ly be set to "off"?

I'm not entirely sure if this is possible. It would have to be apart of phpchat, or lack would have to hack the client to make this possible.

Don't worry about it being possible, I've seen it implemented before.
