Yes, because The Washington Post would also relish in trying to discredit the Tea Party, almost as much as The New York Times would relish it. If you had linked to a The Washington Times article, then you might have a point.
What has been done to Colonial Williamsburg by supporters of the tea party is appalling, speaking from a British perspective. It's been in steady decline pretty much since the tea party started. I applaud recent efforts to restore it back to its glory days, but let's face it- the tea party really signaled the death of the place (although I would accept that there were other causes).

It's restoration stands as a sign of hope against all the tea party sought to destroy.

What has the tea party done to destroy that place? According to the article, the workers state that business has increased, so wouldn't the tea party be helping?

The start of the tea party was a pretty huge reason for people eventually moving away from Colonial Williamsburg. As I said, there are other reasons too, but I don't think that you can simply dismiss the tea party as being a factor in its decline. The two are linked, whether directly or indirectly.

... Funny article, and a little sad. These people are asking the actors for advice and opinion on present day political and social affairs?

I think it's better to ask someone who actually has an in depth knowledge of the history of our country than to ask someone who only studies modern affairs. Remember, these actors aren't the ones we see in Hollywood: they actually study the history of their roll and the time period in depth and do their best to portray that time period in the most accurate way possible. And it's never a bad thing to learn lessons for our history.

... I still think it's pretty pathetic. If they want to figure out where our forefathers "stood" on these many issues today, they should pick up a damned book.

... People like this give the Tea Party that NASCAR feel that's come to be associated with it.
