In other words, let's go ahead and vote someone who isn't paying attention, but I'm not paying attention enough to care who that is X2. ;)
Vote strike, why does someone have to explicitly point out there being "no leads" every game? It's like a coverup or something!

I always double check almost all the cases I want to make, so I didn't list a name just that I didn't think that sax was the only one who hadn't posted recently and it would be better to try to find someone who was posting elsewhere while apparently ignoring this thread.

As far as no leads, it was true and I had kind of felt commander was trying to jump the gun a bit.

Oh, I'm paying attention to who isn't posting, I just didn't add my little internal note-in-the-head list to my post.

With 17 alive, it takes 9 to lynch.

Deadline is on July 20th.

If anyone would like me to prod someone, please say so, I'm more than willing to start prodding.

Incidentally, this is why I like setting a reasonable deadline on Day 1, the game tends to lull quite a bit on Day 1 if I don't.

Going with inactives isn't my favourite thing, but we do not discussions, patterns and leads and that may be useful further in the game. Unvote. Vote TSL- I'd like to see more of him.
But... It was so artistically done.

Day 1 is the only day I'd vote out an inactive, otherwise, there are usually better leads/insights/what-have-you to go on.

I had a few moments, so I went to look at posting levels in this game (not including confirmation posts)

1. Metsfanmax = 5 posts
2. / = 2 posts
3. [Replacement] TA1LGUNN3R = 1 post
4. pancakemix = 1 post
5. Talapus = 2 posts
6. strike wolf = 12 posts
7. Fircoal = 1 post
8. freezie = 5 posts
9. Haggis_McMutton = 2 posts

Same, I vote inactives on day 1 but only because it's day 1...Otherwise I hate to do so.

I'll see what Sax has to say, but won't add my vote on him just yet.

Unvote

for now.

It's a good list but doesn't really account for any time table (tails is naturally gonna have less posts for being a replacement but he may have posted the most recently).

LOL, so much so he got offed in a different game. It's quickly becoming a trend with him. But ya, in general day one is really the only day to seriously vote inactives unless you are throwing pressure on them to make them appear for later. But my guess is lots of peeps have been busy with vacations and such recently.

*generic shpeel about how D1s suck because there's nothing to work with and that's why I don't post in them*

Yeah, that. Also, *generic shpeel about how voting inactives is always crap*. Actually, I'm just going to give that one. :P

Voting inactives is stupid because you have less than what you need to work with. Like, not even anything to get a read from. Then when you vote them because they're not posting either they come in and say "RL is busy" and you have to take it or leave it, or they come in and say, I'm following but I have nothing to contribute" (Logical, as it's probably just joke-voting and stuff). On the latter, the response is "You're just posting to look active", which is a flawed argument because why bother trying to make them post to begin with?

You're probably better off voting the people who are active and are pushing to lynch the inactives, as they could easily be scum trying to stir the pot.

Unvote Flawed Vote Strike to make a point.

That's all WIFOM. Inactivity is frustrating and the town is better off in the long game with a lynch than nothing at all. By getting rid of the deadbeats and inactives we can progress from there, atm there are all these games that are stuck on day one no lynches and that's because people aren't posting. Some random pressure on someone who is not posting is what is needed to get these games going...

I can definitely understand why voting an inactive isn't the best solution but at the same time, it beats nothing and I don't think it is unfair to say that voting inactives can pull out scummy players amongst the active.

Yes, but if you go after an inactive you run the risk of lynching someone who legitimately wasn't really around and didn't have the chance to roleclaim.

Only if someone pre-emptively hammers, normally a fair few votes is enough to get someone to start posting. If they aren't scumarining and are legitimately away from the site then they can be replaced.

On the other hand, in a very large game like this, there is little risk that you might accidentally force a town power role to claim even if you bandwagon an active player, and you could get lucky with scum.

What is your proposal then? Just let time pass and the day fester into a no lynch?

Well in big games mafia numbers go up but town numbers tend to go up by about the same percent and in games with no vanillas, chances of hitting power roles doesn't actually change either so the odds are still roughly the same.

Either way Nag is right, we aren't rushing into lynching anyone in particular and if they are legitimately away from site they can be prodded and/or replaced, which will cause any bandwagon against them to stall anyways.

Well that's fine, but OP specifically states this game has VTs.

Oh...I had forgotten about it not being a non-vanilla game. Still the rest of my statement stands odds are still roughly the same as far as hitting mafia vs town, specific power roles and how many being harder to predict.

I've been highly active elsewhere? I made 0 posts on the weekend and 0 posts yesterday. I made a couple on Monday and none of those were related to any active mafia games. So it's safe to say that I haven't really been here. Honestly just checking through my active posts can do you a lot of good.
