Territories

Post by atr1989 »

Although I'm going to change the structure of the continents, this is what I have for territory names:

sorry, but i don't like it. I'd like to see a DC map because I think there are a lot of landmarks that would be fun to put play, but a flat birds-eye perspective of the city doesn't do that. For instance, rather than fighting for a huge piece of land called Washington Monument, why not actually fight for the Washington Monument?

I don't want to shut this map down, but I would like to help push your thinking... you could have fun with it, like somebody did with this illustrated D.C. map, or you could go 3-d with the monuments.

Clearly you can see what I've been thinking about for my next project... not DC, but I'd like to somehow represent a great city.

Out of the three choices, the black looks the best, though, none look very great anyways. The Washington Monument is missing a bit of the border, on the Brookland side. Also, all of the blue continent is really hard to read. To make this map better, I think you should move it up to a better drawing program. I really like using The Gimp, though I don't think it's very popular around here.

Northwest (orange) - 6 territories
Northeast (yellow) - 5 territories
Southeast (brown) - 4 territories
Southwest (green) - 3 territories
The Mall (blue) - 4 territories
North Arlington (grey) - 3 territories
South Arlington (light green) - 5 territories
Olde Town Alexandria (purple) - 3 territories

I think you should add one or two more small territories in gray, the rest seems fine to me.

How would you guys recommend me going about changing the map. I'm going to redo the map in a drawing program, but which one should I use? Also, do I have to completely restart or can I use the drawing I already have to use it as a base for my new drawing?

Yeah I'm going to start work on a better map, I'm going to have to find a better program first. Updates will come slow for the next month or so but should speed up after that.
