maybe just me, but unlimited reinforcements is kinda silly in 1v1 - second player has odd stacked against them from the beginning...

I have heard similar complaints but I ran a poll in the classic thread and it seemed that most people were fine with it. I understand what you are saying but I am trying to make these tournaments efficient and unlimited reinforcements is one of the ways I can do that.
