Just checked and its "Estimated" to last another 5 billion years. So yeah, No biggie right now

Ah, i thought you did it on purpose, since, as we all know, the earth and sun were created roughly 6000 years ago and all. And the sun is roughly half-way through it's life.

Its 5 billion years. We could focus on everything else for that time and still stumble onto new spaceship related Tech

Some of Jupiter's moons might be good candidates for colonization. For example Europa is covered in Ice and has an albeit weak oxygen atmosphere.

Moon colony. If the talk about Helium 3 being the wonder fuel of the future turns out to be true, this would even be economic. Probably the Chinese will be there first.
