These trees are way better indeed. Don't like the legends much. You might want to skip the impassables and directions part and make the Ibuthos part a bit larger, possibly with names.

Can shrink the impassable some to make the iButho part larger. Not sure I could get the names onto the small versions legend though.

Just noticed on thge small one I forgot to update the legend with the tree picture.

honestly in not liking the block style of the legen,d it doesnt suit the feel of the map, the old style suited it better as it had just one uniform canvas that the legend was on.

http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/4549/s ... sion34.jpg version legend was good, you could try to put and image like the one you have in the current legend into the uniformed legend.

I should learn to trust myself more. I never really liked this one either but I am going to try to get a balance between the two. The same went for the trees and territ lines. I have no reason not to try new ideas but that is all they will be from now, ideas. At least this got a couple of good idea in (placing the iButho legend back in and the army crest). Back in a while.

Some off you may disagree with the choices I have made over the legend and trees but this is what I have decided upon. The legend in he previous version, though nice was out of character for the map. And the trees, though in the wrong perspective, is consistent with the map as a whole. Thanks to everyone who brought it to this and keep the ideas coming =D> but I would like to concentrate on getting this map to look the best it can now, how it is now. :D

Saying that, what have I missed and what can I do about it?
2 and a half weeks till works starts up. :(

do you need to list the ibutho's in the legend? i think its obvious which are the bonus areas.

the trees in the legends base looks more square then round possible fix?

perhaps a lighter colour of green on the trees aswell as idk how the bushes could be light colour and the trees cant since they are both supposed to be from the same environment.

the sword in the legend could do with less opticity as right now it takes a little away from the wording of that part of the legend imo.

Make sure your terminology is consistent (g.e. you used the two separate words, "territory" and "region", in the legend, even though they were referring to the same thing. Go with region).

People wondered about the iButhos with the bonuses. It cuts out the confusion. I would rather not have it and a CA said to take it uot, but since then some guys have said "what is an iButho" for the bonus.

Can do. Tomorrow morning will post that.

The trees have been made lighter than the previous version of the same tree. Can make a tad lighter. Again tomorrow morning.

Again, can do and probably a good idea.

The trees do not match the overhead look you have. Something has to give. Maybe a new tree?

Nor do a lot of things like the men. I know it is duel perspective but call that a quirk of the map. Have tried the overhead look for the trees twice now and both times it has come back to this by popular demand.

I like the iButhos now.
First sentence looks like you have to capture the British Officers & Chard & Bromhead. If you use : instead of , after British Officers that should be fixed.

If you are going to go with the flat trees, I really think you need to try again with the bushes. The two styles are in stark contrast.

Can you try to make a smaller version of the tree to look like bushes?

Will go one of two route here then as I want to keep both. Will try to bring the foliage of the trees out more and if that does not work, flatten the bushes out some. Maybe a mixture of both would work best. Will work on that now.

Changed the , to : in legend.
Brought trees out more and took bushes down a tad.
Curved the river in legend.

I probably will do, but will keep these for a day or two to see is anyone else comments on them.
As I said on the previous page, I have no problem trying something new but I believe the need now for consistency till a mod comments. Lets see if lostinlimbo comes back to say something.
