Are you suggesting that Tom Dempsey was a time-traveler? I'm actually pretty ok with that.

What, really? I totally watched that game and the commentary was like... "Wow, congrats to matt bryant for tying the nfl record for longest kick"... fucking Fox.

Alex Henery from Nebraska playing for the eagles attempted a 62 or 63 yarder on sunday, he can make them pretty often in practice (im from lincoln ne and i watched all his games) but didn't connect correctly with the ball. i hope they give him another chance, maybe to beat their record. However he is more known for his accuracy than his leg. Guy is automatic within 45 yards.

I agree with Lions, not so much with the Texans quite that high or the Cowboys, especially when the 49ers are as far down as they are.

Reason Texans shouldnt be ranked that high:
Their two wins are against:
the #25 ranked Dolphins (winless) led by superstar Chad Henne.
the #30 ranked Colts (also winless) led by their superstar Collins.

I believe the Texans will win their division and make the playoffs, but need more like a 10 rating here. Eagles, ravens, falcons and steelers are all better no question.

Cowboys just beat the #23 rated team (my team ... the 49ers) by outscoring the #23 ranked struggling 49ers 13-3 in the second half. Like i said the 49ers are my fav nfl team and i am a big fan. But we dont make the playoffs, we dont try to win games. We try to find the coolest and most entertaining ways of losing. The game should have never been that close. We should not have even led by 14-0 in the first place. It was a very poor showing by Dallas imo. Also now Dallas is banged up (almost all their offensive weapons are injured after that game). So they should drop a few rankings in my opinion.

Skins will jump into the top 10 after we beat the cowboys, and if Vick actually has a concussion, he might be out longer than expected, and I don't think Kafka is gonna make a metamorphosis into a star NFL QB any time soon (see what I did there?)

I think the Cowboys play against the Jets is a bigger factor in their current position than the comeback over the Niners. A lot of the power rankings will adjust closer to accurate after
this weekend's games.

I'm not surprised Michael Vick has a concussion and he's lucky if that's all it is. One of those borderline late hits --after the pass is already gone and he's standing in the pocket-- the rusher spins him around and throws to the ground, but on the way his chin is slammed into a lineman's shoulder. Vicks' head snapss back and he bites his tongue. It even looked bad in slow motion, and you can see it about halfway thru the video on this page.

Don't overlook Kafka (7/9 for 72 yds), he looked sharp and a week of snaps with the 1st string should make him sharper. Vicks' one INT wouldn't have counted IF Philly had challenged the catch which hit the turf. The turnover at midfield resulted in a Falcon TD.

I said that I'd be happy if the niners managed to go 6-10 this season. Alex Smith is exactly who he was 5 years ago, nothing has changed for him. The O-line can't open up holes for Gore, and Vernon Davis was terribly underutilized against Dallas.

I'm hoping the Niners can get pressure on Dalton and get a win, if they can't, it's Arizona's division barring everyone in St. Louis gets healthy in a hurry.

I have this weird feeling the colts will have the shitiest record this year with manning out, then draft andrew luck, sit him a couple years then have a star QB for another decade.

Perhaps this was their diabolical plan all along.

Could be true, tossing out this season by design. It's hard to believe the Colts
as a team don't have enough quality players to win without Peyton Manning on
the field.

Well manning compensated for a lot of holes on the colts roster, the defense didn't get any better, the run game is still lacking, and a beat up reciver core, were all things that manning made up for with his play week to week.

Also, the colts didn't invest in a dependable backup QB. When Romo went down last year, the cowboys were at least competent on offense. Same goes with the lions.

There will be some changes this week as a few 3-0 Team's stock just went up.
Packers and Saints still look like the top of the heap while the rest get harder
and harder to determine.

Shoutout to the Lions (my second fav team) for coming back from a 20-0 halftime deficit this week.

Also to the 49ers (my boys) for forgetting how to lose a late lead lol

If the Lions actually did win third in their conference, I'm going to claim that my gaffe earlier was intentional. I don't have high hopes, but I'm ok with making ridiculous claims.

God that was an ugly win for the Cowboys. If they don't get healthy soon, that offense is going to be in trouble.

I thought it was a well coached/managed game considering all the injuries
and took advantage of the players that could go. Surviving four bad snaps
was quite a feat considering this division rivalry is always close.

Dallas hosts Detroit next Sunday before getting a bye week to heal a bit
before a road game at New England.

Ok, i am pretty sure this is the highest we will ever see the Lions or Bills.

I hate the pats, so loved what the bills did this week, but i think they are not that good.

I love the lions but they are def not the 3rd best team. Maybe 9th or 10th. We are talking about having the lions above the ravens, pats and steelers? wow. Not complaining on either of the lions or the bills, just dont think it will last more than a couple weeks. Even my niners i think could beat the lions. (we will see here in a couple weeks)

The Packers, Saints and Pats are still the most consistent teams
just three games into the season. The Lions and Bills are both
getting it done so far on both sides of the ball, where lots of the
usual suspects are faltering badly and I'm hoping to see both these
teams maintain their momentum.

Steelers got stomped by the Ravens who then got schooled by the Titans
and Sunday night Pittsburgh barely escaped Indy with the win...
which was pretty much par for the course this week.

Difference is that the Lions can score in bunches and the niners haven't proven they can score consistently.

As much as Gore has done the last few years, he's looking slow and indecisive, he might be falling off the cliff.

And Alex Smith is exactly who we thought he is, a quarterback who can't do a lot with the ball.

One of my best friends is from Michigan and is a huge lions fan. we went to their game in 09 together (niners won)

I agree with everything you said, but it will be a close game no matter what. However that is exactly why the lions wont be seeing the 3 ranking for long. i would like them to but i dont see it. they will make the playoffs, but most good teams will beat them.
