Shut up AoG, nobody knows who Tibu is.

Any of you remember a more dramatic game than game 6?

Depends on your allegiance. For me it is the Game 6 in the 1993 World Series.

I am stunned and completely surprised by La Russa announcing his retirement this morning. A great era of baseball has ended in St. Louis (and MLB overall).

I expected he would retire if they won. I didn't expect it so soon, figured he might wait a little more into the off season, but overall it makes sense I think.

Wow, so the Marlins get Buehrle, Reyes, Bell and maybe Fielder.

The Angels get Wilson and fucking Pujols.

If only I could get excited about baseball. I can, however, get excited about 250 Million Dollars.

Totally agree!!!! The most memorial game for me!! Joe Carter 0-4 against (or was it 0-5) the Wild Thing, Blue Jays down I believe 6-5, 2 on, 2 out, well the rest is history!!

But who is going to protect Pujols in the weak hitting Angel line-up.

Not sure, but it still makes them a lot better.

It does. But unless the Angels get a stick behind Pujols you will probably see a career high in walks from Pujols.

Pujols is a great guy both on and off of the field.
He just got an offer he couldn't refuse.

I admit it's not as shocking to see the Cardinals let him get away
as it is to see how much a franchise will pay a single player.

I'm actually disappointed with the decision by Pujols. I'm not positive on how much more than Angels offered than the Cardinals, but I wanted him to stay.

I guess I'm biased because the Angels are in the AL, but I don't think he should've gone. If he does end up being one of the top 5 hitters of all-time in baseball, I think his legacy would've been greater with the Cards (sticking with THE best NL franchise in history). Also, the Cards are the better team right now and he IS the biggest thing in St. Louis right now.

The Angels move will bring more money to Pujols from ads and the like.

So sad Pujols is so ugly and uncharismatic, we could see a contract for 400 million if he was as charismatic as a Reyes or Big Papi.

I don't like Pujols, never had, he looks so ugly and awkward.

Like a good fan I liked to see his great stats, but now the stats sucks because he didn't make it to 100 rbis this season.

Well there were reports the Marlins were hovering around 200 Million, and than Cardinals would be able to match something like that. So those extra millions above 200 probably helped seal the deal.

Wow, I want to believe he didn't use any, but honestly professional athletes no longer get the benefit of the doubt with me. After Clemens, Bonds, Floyd Landis, Lance Armstrong, Marion Jones, etc., I no longer think they're innocent until proven guilty.

I don't think he was but if I remember correctly, there were a lot of witnesses against him.

In order to keep things consistent, I'm going to have to only believe things if there are hard convictions. You can believe what ever you want, but if all the tests are negative/there is a reasonable explanation for a false positive, then I can only assume they're not guilty.

Well, Braun's case still gets to go the arbiter to make sure the initial test was accurate, but it looks bad.

However, about Bonds and Clemens and everyone who 'used' before they instituted rules against PEDs, who cares? They were not against the rules until just a few years ago. If Braun did it, he is breaking the rules, but it also doesn't matter because there is a punishment for it. I just don't think it's a big deal.
