Normally it is best to lynch the inactives in my games, as I cannot always guarantee replacements.

inactives will make it harder to get a lynch because the inactives do count as 'alive'. so if 30% of the players is inactive, a lynch with the remaining 70% will be much harder. that's why lynching inactives before they become a problem is a viable idea.
on top of that are inactives sometimes just mafia that's scared of posting because they might actually accidently make a wrong post or make a post that might get someone's attention.
This makes sense only if you prod them and they respond. If you prod them and then they say nothing and get replaced, that just seems to me like they have a crap vanilla role.
Not to mention if you lynch a non acitve and they are vanilla, you lose 2 town roles (1 at night) and start d2 down 2. Seems odd to me.
and what if you can't find any replacements? then they're just dead meat.
which is why they should be mod killed. At least that way you are down 1 not 2.

lol... Sully has definitely been busy... we had a really long night in the mafia games that he's hosting for the mods... went way longer than it should have... his posts there matches the timing in the posts here I believe so i'd say its safe to accept busy in rl for the long time between posts. I'm still trying to figure out some of the studf from a few pages back... have to make some time for a solid read I guess

There are now three players in my sights, Jens, Sully and now you. I still say let's remove Jens as that will both help the town and I believe help unravel the mathematical puzzle posed by edoc. I am going to go out on a limb here and FOS eldario, chap, shield, terrafutan also as being scummy (they have no reason to pick on me but seem to me to be birds of a feather) - I think pancake, conozo, edoc are town but attacking Zimmah weirdly who I think is also town. So that leaves you sg7, I think your town also but all this fence sitting is becoming odd. Make a decision and vote! I am undecided on alliegences of Jens and Sully but I reckon we should remove Jens because I am convinced that submarining is scummy and ultimately not in our interests.

Oh my goodness! Are you really gonna FOS me? I would have never guessed that. Since you did the same thing to zimmah when he went after you. I don't really buy your claim as a Vanilla hippo. You guys need to do better looking because it was LSU tigers mathematical puzzle, edoc just put it into an actual format where he went through and found all the possible numbers for a solution (and factored out the repeats).
Yes Jen is dead weight right now hippo, but he hasn't poked his head in at all, not even to confirm, so him being scum seems pretty low on my part, I just beileve he is extremely busy and hasn't had time to play mafia right now. So finding a replacement would be better action right now I think.

Interesting take on it Chap. You may need to read the posts a bit more closely. I was the first to work out that the mathematical puzzle was very complex and posted a general stab at the combinations. I am pleased that I have rattled your cage but it's all very good pointing the blame away from yourself. I have genuienly declared, rather than attack me perhaps you would be so kind as to declare also.

You are right, edoc is one smart cookie setting out the full combinations. That's why I believe edoc is a townie like me. Vio has explained why she doesn't like to replace Jens so that leaves it for us to make a call on that. I see no reason to suggest that Jens is just busy - we are all busy. Unless there is a better candidate then Jens should go now.
Incidentally, there are a number of other players which are also keeping their head down! It's good that we have got the forum going again, would be nice if the others joined in. Dazza ... what's up?

I really don't know how to play this. Even when we lynch someone we will not know there role. The puzzle will help I am sure but it just confuses me

it's not wrong and i beleive you for now. it's dangerous though, because the one that brings up too much discussion often gets a lot of attention. and that can be a bad thing.
it's quite hard because there's indeed nothing to claim other then vanilla or scum. and even when someone died there's not much information revealed. we need to make some really good decisions based on players actions i think. does anyone here have experience with this type of mafia?
