Hey, what do you know. Dice Bitching is a religion now.

Must have missed that one,so I am not alone..natty_dread wrote:chang50 wrote:Anyone else noticed the similiarities between debating with dice-whingers and the religious, the same appeals to emotion over rationality, the same misapplication of logic and poor understanding of probability. Most especially a fatuousness that clouds their perception of their abilities and importance?natty_dread wrote:Yeah, you go ahead and believe that, but you don't have any evidence to back up your claim.RADAGA wrote:albeit I still believe that there is a sutle flaw in the generator that make ties happen slightly more than they should

i avoid flat rate usually too, not as much as i avoid freestyle, but still, it's my least-played spoils setting, i may even prefer nucliar.AndyDufresne wrote:Someone should make a streaky spoils topic. The last couple of cash-ins I've had in a single flat rate game have been pretty pathetic---'tis why I usually avoid flat rate games!

We'll see how my dice go once I've got some more games going.

I've seen you like to make fun of people who complain about the dice. Sure there are some outlandish claims, but ever played dice for real? I mean not only in Risk, but in games like backgammon or dice poker, for example. The thing about these streaks is true, and it is more noticeable for people who play few games.natty_dread wrote:LIFE IS SO UNFAIR
Have you done legitimate testing at the "randomness" of CC dice compared to "real dice"?Condestável wrote:I've seen you like to make fun of people who complain about the dice. Because you are premiums, you don't care about losing a game or twenty. You play tens of them at the same time. You just don't care for absurd streaks. To me it's pretty frustrating to mount a strategy and have the game completely f****d up because of exorbitant results that are as probable as winning the lottery every year assuming I play every week.
Fact is I also have fabulous wins, like 20 against 20 and winning 17-0, which I think it's pretty ridiculous. However you don't usually try 20vx20 unless you have nothing to lose. So, these exciting results happen mostly when you don't exactly need them, which obviously enhances negative perception.
Claim what you want. I don't have patience for this. Maps are so pretty and well made, but the game itself is an absolute killjoy compared with the real game, where dice decide the edge of taking a risk or not (hence the name), not these absurd "lemming" streaks game after game.
I was going to give 25 bucks this Christmas... LOL. Not anymore, I'm almost fed up again and sooner or later going on another 6-month vacations of this until I forget how unreal is and return for more.
You still ask why is this in decline? ask most of the people who leave, why they leave. Apart from the regulars, most of people here are in transit till they get fed off this so beloved "randomness". I wonder how many of you have a math degree, since I read so much "science" here and even psychology lessons on perception.

If you say anything but yes, then please, don't ever post again.
I was a freemium on this site for a year before becoming a premium member (some cutie bought it for me <3). Not once then did I ever question the randomness of the dice and I still don't. Here are my reasons:
1. I never tested the randomness of the dice on this site or real dice, so I wouldn't know their relation
2. Assuming they're unfair, aren't they equally unfair? It's not like your opponent gets good dice all the time while yours suck. If they streak, then they streak equally. In the end, the dice remain fair. Don't act like you're the only victim.
3. It's an online game, and seriously, my ability to give a shit is very low.
Well I'm a freemium and I have no complaints about the dice at all, really the only thing that interferes with my enjoyment of cc is serial dice bitchers..Condestável wrote:Army of GOD wrote:Have you done legitimate testing at the "randomness" of CC dice compared to "real dice"?Condestável wrote:I've seen you like to make fun of people who complain about the dice. No, it's not equally unfair because you level up the annoying quantity of bullshit events by playing tens of games at the same time, like pundit gamblers, like traders. That's why you don't give a shit.
This is the crux of the question that most people don't get. This is the business secret of this site, my friend, the very reason of game limit per free accounts.
Unfortunately many people go emotional, just like bad gamblers do. And you even mock them with questionable antics, which gives them just one more reason to leave.
Ultimately the result is visible: while the clans increase and it's always the same people geeking around, the peak of overall users is long gone.

Streaks are a natural function of random streams. Look it up.Condestável wrote:I've seen you like to make fun of people who complain about the dice. So don't play. If it's not fun you shouldn't be doing it. I can't believe you'd want to play here only so you'd get to complain about it on the forums.Claim what you want. OH! OH! This guy belongs in the Nutty Professor category of dice complainers, correct???Condestável wrote:Sorry, Natty, but I've played much more games in real life than here. I play here because the maps you draw are beautiful. Hands down.
The upset its that this randomizer does not give you a taste of reality. At the end of the day the average is 3.50 but it is too streaky and favours people who play tens of games.
Anyway, my rank is not bad for 80 normal games.
