As Sully said, the current general consensus across the mafia forum is that you should stop when you get to L-2, until you are ready to hammer. L-1 allows for more accidental lynches. Either from people deliberately trying to speed-lynch (unlikely at this point in the game), people not realizing that hammering before the claim and whatnot would be bad, people not reading the vote count, people pretending to not have read the vote count.

Right. We don't want someone coming in to attack TheGeneral2112 for the lynch. That would be incredibly stupid, even for a mafia goon.

If Hippo provides a good defense/claim we could look into it, otherwise it will be noted for tomorrow or something. I don't think that by itself is nearly enough to justify switch tracts right now. I mean maybe through an FOS out there, but I don't know if I would really consider it a lynchable offense.

Ok
Hippo votes Shield to put him at L-1
He gets called out and then unvotes waiting for a replacement

Replacement doesnt come, shield doesnt talk any more.

he then revotes AND gives VS grief over VS asking for a "Day" but then never revoting

Then he unvotes again asking for replacement.

I call him out and he responds with a blatant OMGUS on me after I vote him.

Now he is back to pressuring SG even though the mod says he is trying to find a replacement.

I had a nice post with quotes and crap, but closed the wrong tab when I went to post it.

Fastposted: And now SG is back.
As far as I can ascertain, this is the big deal attack by BG.

The sg7 thing caused all of us to move on, no problem there.

The VS thing was a joke, no problem there.

The OMGUS was a prod at you, nothing more, no problem there.

You claim that you had lovely posts and all but say you lost them. Thereafter everyone goes bandwagoning. Nice, but weird.

You want me to claim, fine. I'm on L1 and you didn't get my clue. Stupid town you will loose me whatever I do.

I am the Town Doctor. Lynch me or the mafia will kill me, either way its a sad loss - but such is the way of D1!!

Night all!

It's not beyond the realm of possibility. His 'Lynch me or the mafia will kill me, either way its a sad loss - but such is the way of D1!!' kind of smells like a mafia ploy I've seen before, but we might not be able to do much now.

To me that just sounded like he thinks he will be NK'd as he is the doc. Hopefully we have something else that has the ability to save him. Bus driver for example. Or a watcher so at least if he is killed the killer will be caught.

I am not the most experienced player but to me a doc claim is believable almost 100% of the time.

A good doc wouldnt counter on D1, instead lay low for a day or 2.

if someone dies and flips doc, Hippo is a goner.

Im not saying he is lying or telling the truth, Im undecided.
If it is a fakeclaim its not a clever 1 at all. I am a bit confused to why he drew so much attention to himself. He played crazy like that in MoB's first game and was the arsonist I think. Maybe he just plays crazy no matter what the role

either way, if he's a doc, he shouldn't have voted so many people day 1.

he should have laid low much more.

Because Doctor is such a ubiquitous role in these games I can only think of two reasons a scum would fake-claim doc. Both are only likely to occur when the scum doesn't have a good fake-claim prepared.
1. A risky gamble on there not being a Doc in the game. If successful the payoff can be great.
2. To lure out the real Doc.

So, what is the real doctor to due in such a situation? His options basically amount to either counter-claiming and accepting the trade of the doc for a scum, or not doing anything about it and letting the scum walk free for a significant amount of time. I suppose he could also argue for the claimed person's lynch without making a counter-claim, but such an attempt would probably either futile, considered scummy, or seen through quickly.

First Unvote Hippo

I unvoted with your quote for a reason. You have been put in this position not because of "stupid town" but because of your stupid behavior/game play. Your post shows you take no responsibility for the dilema you have put the Town in by the words you write.

You will be given the benifit of the doubt for the simple reason we dont wish to lose the Dr, if you are one, so we will play on the side of caution. If you are Mafia it will come out as I beleive the odds are that there is a dr in this game. This hurts town because now we have to use resources to protect/investigate you that could have been used else where.

Heres a piece of advice. No one knows your town. You may know your town but we dont.

Thanks for your words of wisdom Iron, to be fair I thought I was being "clever" but obviously have lots to learn about Mafia play. If I survive night one then rest assured that I will more carefully chose what I do and how.

I suggest we pressure Leehar to make an appearance. He was suppose to be a replacement for Condocil but so far has posted nothing. If he is not going to participate he is dead weight.

This post struck me as scummy. Andy, while that may be true, it's not worth risking our potential doc for it without a counterclaim, even given BG's valid point.
