Is CC the BEST out there?

I apologise if me joining this site as in some way offended you but I did not complain about game lengths? Maybe I DID join a game several months ago and forget about it because I was on LG and decided to pick that site back then.

I am trying to play my first games on here now ...

Ok, I've joined your Classic game. We'll know soon enough if you're sincere and will stick around long enough to play it out. I'll avoid offering any more opinions on this subject until then.

Hey, you clicked on something by mistake; that happens. And I can't speak for everybody, but when I was a newbie (really not that long ago to be honest -- about 13 months) most people treated me quite well. That's why I'm still here.

Here is the technical comparison of three sites' homepages.

Homepage loading time.

• CC - 5.5 sec first visit, 2.6 sec for second visit, 32 web requests, speed page score - 90/100
• MajorCommand - 9.84 sec first visit, 1.8 sec for second visit, 30 web requests, speed page score - 83/100
• LandGrab - 16.98 sec first visit, 9.28 sec for second visit, 134 web requests, speed page score - 0/100

So far CC is the fastest site. And it is most compatible as MajCom uses flash. LandGrab is one of the worst made sites I've ever seen. CC uses most of the current best practices known in the web. Though not each of them :).

Well, its definite that CC will hold the speed category for a long time to come. The clickies are just inherently perfect and the ridiculous speeds that people are able to make in one second prove that. I'm always amazed the other sites didn't copy it personally.

I myself think the main complaint about CC is its prettiness, but for me, its nice and easy to see, and I only really care about the game play, and any graphics actually get in the way of the game itself half the time.

The real players really only care about the makeup of the game, and the graphics people seem to care more about the look of the map. Being old, and having survived pong, I actually prefer the more basic graphics, with the more intense gameplay, but thats definitely a personal choice.

I think right now there's not really any likely chance that other sites quite have the volume of great players that CC has at its disposal. I would argue that a dream team from CC is the best in the world, especially if freestyle type games were added into the mix, and since speed and freestyle very much is a part of the game, I think it would only be fair to include it.

I think the smaller sites always will have some draw of course, because they will be more controlled places for those who dont like the diversity and just overwhelming noise that comes from having thousands of players, and many vocal ones at that, who have been essentially interacting and feuding, for years.

I just wish all of them would stop fixing the dice.

Ok guys looks at the title title thread I kind of understand your reactions.
I searched on here for LG and this thread came up because I know someone was already trying to set this up.

I'm not saying you are not the best out there technically or not. EVERY site with this game has some very good points to them and everyone I would guess caters to a different kind of players preference whatever the reasons. I am not suggesting in any way that one site should change or one is better than the other because its personal preference. I only know bits about CC and lots about LG and they are both good IMO for VERY different reasons.

If you like RT games then this site is great I here because the competition tends to be much better I here? Like I've said its one of LG's downfalls IMO. If you like longer term more complex games then for me LG is better ... saying that there are features here I love that are unique to me and I cannot wait to try them out

I think both can give me something the other cannot and I like it that way. I just hope CC ends up being as good for its owns reasons as it initially seems to me.

Nah our "RT" players are the best and our "normal" longer complexed games / maps blow anything land grab has out of the water, it only takes 1 look thru both sites map selections to see how horrible lg maps are to cc's mostly because of our map foundry standards of course.

And CC clans would destroy lg's "teams" in both gameplay and fashion

The clan griff is in is undefeated (what is it now, 10-0), and everyone thought they were all talk (some think they still are) even after taking down a top 10 clan. Point is, I don't think griff is one of those people who's all talk.

Hey, maybe you guys are right...why should CC participate? What is there to gain? Nothing! This is the largest site with the best maps the best players. There is nothing to prove, not even in a friendly competition. After all, landgrab & major command are not even worth of mention in the same sentence. CC dominates in all aspects. Right?

I don't think that there is anyone in the world that would not agree that the U.S. is the best in the world in basketball...hands down! No one can even come close. And look what happened when the U.S. brought its best to the Olympics. They kicked everyone's a$$! Well, except for 2004 when they took bronze Maybe they should not have used the pros & just claimed that whatever happens in the olympics, they are still the best & that claim is enough for them....cause that's all that counts! Besides, the other nations used (stole) strategy developed in the U.S & even hired U.S. coaches! Maybe they STILL should have got the gold in 2004 using this criteria. But no, that would not be good enough...they came back & proved that they were the best...again & again...

But here, meh, why bother....CC is best and as long as we believe it, who cares....

Quite honestly, I couldn't give a rat's a$$, I saw this tournament invite & thought it was a cool idea, posted it where I thought it would get more response & instead had everyone jump all over me. Sure as hell I wouldn't be playing in it but would have enjoyed watching it. Didn't expect such hate. I'll go back to playing my 4 games....just as I have for the last 2 tears...

If you're using examples... At least put in some research and do not show your arrogance or lack of knowledge. I'm quite sure that it's not the way you would like to have your site represented.

I still remember when someone on Landgrab quite literally copied several maps from CC. Much amusement was to be had.

To be fair, it could be seen as giving to charity. Their map standard might have increased since then, but not by much!
