Race to the Future, 2112 AD - WINNER: lurkerleader

Post by lostatlimbo »

Months ago, 32 life-sentence prisoners were dropped in 4th century Rome ready to battle through the world's worst historical wars with only their wits as weapons. The promise of freedom was their reward, eternal banishment in a primitive past was the price of failure. Through the dark ages, colonialism, imperialism; dodging arrows, swords, cannons and bombs, one contestant stood apart - with 12 consecutive wins and 0 losses. Never in the history of Race to the Future has one player showed such dominance.

A force of pure destruction, a fan favorite - ladies & gents, without further ado, give a fiery welcome to the McDonald's Bell 2112 AD, Race to the Future Time Champion:

Lurkerleader!

Image

Lurkerleader, formerly imprisoned in Canada for war crimes, is now a free man with a 10,000,000 GUE check and certainly much more in endorsement deals to follow. Stay tuned for Lurkerleader's tales of time travel in his brand new reality show - Conquering Time, sponsored by iPhoneXLII - airing right after this on FUX network.

Thanks for watching and thanks to the other 31 contestants - wherever in time they now reside - for giving us a great show.

Til next year...

Many thanks to DJ Teflon, Mr. CD and all the TDs for setting up and running the Fantasy / Sci-Fi Tournament.

All games are 1v1, Automatic, Sequential, Escalating, Chained, Foggy, 20 Round Limit. Games will be sent by invite. Freemiums are welcome if you keep 1 spot open for the duration of the tournament.

32 contestants battle in Conquer Rome. The victor moves forward to the Middle Ages, the loser heads back to Alexander's Empire. Lose 4 battles and you are trapped in the past. 8 players will reach Eastern Hemisphere and battle for power-ups before the final match on Classic.

Round 1 - Initial Drop
The mighty empire of Rome is being torn apart. Don't hesitate to do the same to your opponent.

Round 2 - First Jump
16 victors leap to the Middle Ages - a time of famine, plague and torture. Show them you can do worse.
16 losers go back to Alexander's Empire. Grab a spear, but spare no blood.

Round 3 - Second Jump
8 victors leap to the New World
8 losers return to Conquer Rome
8 victors return to Conquer Rome
8 losers go back to ancient Greece (Peloponnesian War)

Round 4 - Third Jump
4 victors leap to the Age of Steam (Orient Express 1883)
4 losers go back to the ancient times of Gilgamesh
4 victors move forward to Alexander's Empire
8 losers return to Alexander's Empire
8 victors move forward to the Middle Ages
4 losers return to the Middle Ages

Round 5 - Fourth Jump
The first two finalists will battle on Eastern Hemisphere for their ranking heading into the finals. Winner is #1, loser is #2.
The rest continue moving forward with each win or backward with each loss.

Round 6-10
Each contestant continues to leap either forward or backward, until there are 8 finalists left, ranked 1st-8th.

FINALS
The 1st finalist receives 5 bonus wins.
The 2nd finalist receives 4 bonus wins.
The 3rd finalist receives 3 bonus wins.
The 4th finalist receives 2 bonus wins.
The 5th finalist receives 1 bonus win.
The other 3 finalists receive nothing.

Each finalist plays the other 7 finalists in the 21st century (Fractured America).

Each player's Fractured America wins and bonus wins are combined. The player with the most combined wins, wins the tournament and is brought back to the present (2112) a celebrity and a free man (or woman).

If 2 or more contestants are tied at the end of the Fractured America round, they will be brought to the present (All Your Bases Are Belong To Us) to face off in a series of three 1v1 games. The winner will be awarded their freedom and have their citizenship reinstated, while the losers will return to imprisonment.

Note: In round 7, on New World and in round 9, on Orient Express 1883, the contestant who won their games in the fewest total rounds will advance forward to the next time period. While the remaining even number of players face off 1v1.
