Agreed,it could easily have been a reflex defensive reaction,the best way not to get kicked is to not kick first.It's disurbing how many women nowadays think they can assault men and get away with it because of some antiquated,pathetic notion of chivalry that some men still ascribe to.

I doubt that second kick was "automatic." It was too slow to be accidentally thrown. He wasn't under stress either (as in fighting)--which is when accidents like that are more likely to happen. The cop meant to kick her, but forgot about the consequences at that time (or didn't know he was being filmed).

Not sure I can make you feel empathy, but a kick like that to the head, plus her head ramming into the pavement when she had no way of using her hands to break her fall, could easily have killed her. No wonder the guy didn't mention it in his report of the arrest until the video was presented.

I just want to point out something: Just because you support the police on a general basis, does not require you to support this particular police officer in this particular situation. I don't get why people cannot differentiate between supporting the police and denigrating abusive police officers.

Sounds like you are distorting what people here have said, now.

I don't think anyone here says that woman's actions were appropriate. She should be charged, no doubt. (if she isn't, it would be becuase of the cop's actions). However, as the old saying goes, "2 wrongs don't make a right". We expect police to act BETTER than criminals, not descend to their level. Also, as a practical matter, cops have to endure a LOT in their daily duties. If they are going to fly off the handle at the first confrontation, then we wind up with streets that are battle grounds and populations that don't respect cops... at all. They need to be able to control situations, calm them down and keep idiots from harming themselves and others. Its not their job to act the bully or to apply punishment themselves absent a judge and jury.

In fact, it is BECAUSE I support the police generally that I do take particular offense when some show themselves unworthy of that support and respect.. because they make every cops' life more difficult.

Does anyone know if there were other officers near the municipality where this unfourtunate very innocent lady accidently put handcuffs on herself prior to being brutalized because she slipped and the beast that struck her down like lightning made it look like she was trying to kick him?

Was anyone close enough to be able to assist this victem other than the angel like videographer, why was she alone with that monster?

lesson learned here. dont f*ck with the police. she was probably driving drunk or something, or is one of these bitches that thinks certain laws dont apply to them, and decided to assault the cop. OWNED.

This is one of those things that cannot be judged by merely applying the law.

This cops must be ready to react to everything, they are risking this life every day and if you think they should change the cassette if the already have the delinquent cuffed well you are being naive in respect of how human psychology works. It has probably happened to him the he had a drug addict cuffed and out of nowhere he put him in danger. That goes deeply into his mind for the next time he's in a similar situation.

And yes, the lady used in his favor the fact that she's a woman, and thought, "hey, i can kick this asshole and call him asshole and he can't do anything because i'm a lady and i work at an office".

When you take that into account you can really put charges on the officer. But the judge should give him some sort of community service for say 20 hours. Like "young man, i get that you must be ready for anything, but at some point, when your leg was in the air i bet you could have reacted and sort of stop the kick a bit", I'm going to to trust your intentions this time, but you gotta do 20 hours of community service"
