2. Chap's Challenge by chapcrap
One example in the series: Chap's WWII Poland Challenge
This series has a double level of strategy. There is, of course, strategy within the games themselves, but there is an extra level of strategy in deciding who to challenge. Will you take the time to research your opponents and see who you think you can beat, or will you just plunge in and pick someone at random? Very, very enjoyable!

This was already nominated for Best Series.

Dukasaur wrote:Best Medium Tournament
1. Angola Loves Random by angola
Reason for nomination: there's just not enough tournaments with big multiplayer games on random maps. We need more of them.

2. MC's 25th Tournament by mcshanester29
A clear and coherent scoring system allowing players to prove themselves with 25 games on their own map before heading into the final.

Unless I'm totally mistaken these two are Large Tournaments, not Medium or Mid-Sized.

Dukasaur wrote:3. Epic Teams by chapcrap and IcePack
Essentially a miniature clan war, this tournament allowed non-clan players to have a taste of clan-style warfare.

This one was already nominated for Best Large Tournament.

Thanks for the nominations Duk.

I figure this is going to be like the Oscars:

"I can't believe I was nominated 8-[ "... slyly prepare your acceptance speech 8-) ...wait with bated breath for the results  ...see that you lost  ..."It's an honor just to be nominated :)= :---) "

At least this is how I see it going in my case

This is something I have been working on.

He said, don't call me, I'll call you, so I think we're looking pretty good, because I gave him my number and everything!!

Just spoke to him. Said he tried calling and a ring tone emanated from his Closet of Shit. Guess the deal's off.

Best Dubs Tourney + Best Tourney Series -

Best 1v1 Tourney + Best Tourney Series -
  • CC [Beta 2011] 1v1 - Antarctica + assorted others under the Beta 2011 umbrella (some dubs as well?)
    by alstergren
    - Great way to introduce Beta maps to players in an entertaining tournament format with great organization in running many similar events simultaneously
  • Don't Blink-Baseball + assorted others under the Don't Blink umbrella
    by HighlanderAttack
    - Similarly to the previous nomination, a fun way to implement the Manual settings in the tournament context

Tell me how these work and I'll submit some more nominations. The toughest part was putting everything into the format, otherwise I'd just have given you names like the HeadHunters series, some of the terminator or speed series etc

Lee, you can nominate a tournament for anything it fits into but it sounds like you're wanting the Best Series category for most of what you're looking at.

Thanks Leehar. This format is fine, so go ahead and use it to nominate more tournaments if you like. You can also use the format in the second post on page 1. :D

Link to the tournament thread: viewtopic.php?t=129601
Name of the Tournament Organizer: qwert
The category (or categories) you nominate the tournament for: Best International Tournament
The reason why your nomination should win: One of the few , more comprehensive International tournaments. Well run and the TO offered some great options to win a GA Medal.

Best Trips tourney:
I would like to nominate Gunn's Triples Round Robin II by Gunn217.
Simple but functional concept, this tournament was very professionally presented. All the information for each round was very neatly formatted and contained in spoilers in Post 1, including game links to every game, team names underlined, up-to-date standings, and so on. A really competent TO!

Lucky you!

Name of the tournament: JRT's - Ultimo Hispano en Pie 3
Link to the tournament thread: link
Name of the Tournament Organizer: jricart
The category (or categories) you nominate the tournament for: International
The reason why your nomination should win: As far as I can remember, this tournament it was the biggest international tournament, with premium prizes. Also it was a simple format, wich helps very much, because in a international tournament most of them usually are novice tournamentaly speaking, so you can't expect them to play something like Dukasaur tournament. I said it was simple but also not very simple, so people like me, who enjoys complex tournaments, could also like it.

The only bad thing I saw to this tournament is that I didn't win :( , you should fix that [jricart :D

Edit: And also Lindax posted before me the same thing, that's another reason ;)
