I am not sure what to think yet, but it is "busy" that is for sure. I guess I will sorta tune then out as they are distracting to me. Lets see what I think in a few weeks time. Thanks for the update.

[/spoiler] Agree. Really appreciate the time you guys have put into making this change, and the site is better for your efforts. I like the new icons a lot, thanks guys!
It has been brought to our attention that the word 'OLD' carries a negative connotation. With this in mind, we use discontinue the use of the OLD icon and replace it with the once used silver ball icon.

The other 3 new icons will remain in use.
Maybe you should have used "Wise" to satisfy the geriatric community here. Or "aged" like a fine wine!

If you want a precis, a Grand Finale is a special tournament at the end of a series of tournaments, rewarding the winners of the subsidiary tournaments. The series must be at least 8 tourneys long, and there is no organisers' medal or winners' medal, although there is a GA medal for the winner.

Pretty much true.
close to true.
some GF's have medals for the winner and no GA medal. some have no medal for the winner but a GA is given.
in some cases the GF is added to the database for the host so it is included in the overall tally of completed tournaments. whether a medal is awarded or not is a moot point as most hosts have already maxed out their 30.
in some cases the GF win is added to the database for the winner, for others it is not. i haven't bothered to check if that corresponds to the awarding of medals mentioned above but i think it did.
