First home match of the year, NY 4 - 1 Colorado :D

Henry with 2 goals and an assist, Marquez and Tainio absolutely dominated the middle of the park. This is going to be a real fun season.

Anyone else think the referee at The Old Firm was a joke?

I mean, the ratio of reds to yellows was 3/1?!? The referee made bad decisions all day long, and had no control over the game. The only red which was maybe deserved was the two-footed challenge. On that subject, anyone see Cisse's career-ending challenge?

Disgraceful challenge, especially taking into account the reason he got his other red card!

In retaliation to the 2 footed tackle against him!

Not sure why he threw himself to the ground in a sulk either?

Haha don't talk to me about it.

First sending off he was not getting to the ball, not a red card.
Second sending off he got 200% of the ball and then got kicked. Even a two footed tackle isn't dangerous if you are about a foot away from the other guy.
Their second goal was offside.
Our manager got sent off for nothing.

It's hard to win when you are playing with 9 players against 12.

only watched like the first half hour until celtic had a guy sent out for absolutly nothin, it wasnt even inside the box and there were players covering you usually see more physical contact in corners yet no one gets sent off for those.

2 footed tackles always deserve to get sent off no matter if he won the ball its a dangerous tackle that shouldnt be part of the game. Lennon got sent off for telling the ref his first half performance was a joke which in the modern day which no manageris allowed to criticise refs he had to be sent to the stands.

the result doesnt change anything , celtic will win the SPL and rangers are still in deep shit.

"The first one wasn’t a sending off and the second off was borderline, you canĀ“t tackle like that, and my sending off was a joke," he said.

"I spoke quite quietly, coldly to the referee in the tunnel. I didnĀ“t swear, didn’t point any fingers. I have witnesses. I do my team talk at half-time and was walking back out and got called back into the refereeĀ“s room, so I canĀ“t do my job.

"And that to me is the most galling one of the lot. I went into see him at half-time. and he said you were warned about your behaviour, but I said what was wrong with my behaviour in the tunnel and I never got an answer.

"After the game I wanted to see him and I got a message back to wait 20 minutes and then I could go and see him. Twenty minutes later and the referee wouldn’t see me.

"I want some answers and I“m not getting them and as manager of the football club I think I deserve that.I was deprived of doing my job properly when my team needed me."

For safety reasons, the manager was advised not to watch the second-half from the stand and had to view the match from the confines of the press room

"I was told for my own safety it wasn“t a good idea," he said. "I can“t sit in the stand for my own safety. It sums up things up in this country. Needless to say I“m not happy about it.

"The biggest game of the season and I can“t go out into the stand and watch my team or send down messages. I have Stevie Woods at the door running up and down the tunnel for me. I can“t get a view of the game as it“s only on the screen so I may as well have sat in the house and watched the second half.

"I don“t think I deserved to be sent off, and my staff are very angry about it and my players are angry and disappointed but I“m proud of the players and the fans. You saw in the last 20 minutes they kept going and that“s why they will be champions.

Does anyone really believe when Lennon says he spoke calmly that he actually did? Possibly the second biggest c*nt in British football (miles behind Steve Evans).

In terms of the red cards I thought they were all justifiable... first was borderline, I would have stuck to a yellow but ref had a tough call and he WAS the last man. Always hard to tell if he'd get the ball, but if I was a Rangers fan, I'd be annoyed if it wasn't given. Either way, a good game to watch for me, the neutral, between two pretty poor teams.

thx man it helps the rest of us keep up with MLS. NY second goal was great such a difficult position to score. Henry must be thinking the mls is a cake walk with being gifted such an easy first goal.

Yeah we aren't as good as we once were, but OF games were never good for the football. Plus ain't you a Reading fan? Not exactly used to watching quality football are you :P

Henry isn't solely carrying the team. Colorado isn't a very good team this year.

Last year Henry didn't get much help in the form of service, so he developed a habit of dropping back a lot to play a sort-of #10 role, which killed our attack since there was no one pressuring the back line.

This year is different mostly due to Kenny Cooper (they guy who scored the 2nd and 4th goals - he's also a former Man Utd youth player). He's constantly right next to the last defensive player, attracting attention and giving Henry the ability to find space both to distribute and shoot.

Henry has a very good team around him, on paper only rivaled by Los Angeles (Beckham + Donovan + Keane)

I notice you don't question my Steve Evans bashing, so we're clear on that one! McCoist is a bit of a dick as well, Lennon is just an antagoniser; loves to wind up Rangers fans/players (all well and good in most games, bit of fun, but when it's the old firm it's a bit more serious... could cause a serious incident, let alone bring on the hate and threats/bombs to himself). Just read views of most fans outside of Glasgow, they hate the both of them. Bring back the likes of Walter Smith and Martin O'Neill - they knew how to act professionally (and were better managers than these mugs as well).

Just saw this as I was posting, see above :-) Most people in Britain can't stand him, just like we all hate Steve Evans. It's the arrogance I think, and the constant moaning at every single ref in the division every time you don't get a result - it's never the players fault! The fans can see the truth, so more annoying when the manager can't. I don't think Reading's manager has EVER criticised a referee for a performance.

The way we're playing at the moment, probably about similar quality to OF games! But I was speaking as a neutral :-) When it's your own team you can take the lack of quality!

I don't think there is a defender in Europe that could've closed him down in time. I remember Maicon scoring a similar goal against Juvenuts last year.

i think you are either over estimating the quality of american teams or under-estimating the quality of European teams. A good left back would have gotten to him, 2 touches is an eternity in the PL.

Sniper's right. There's no way any player in La Liga or The Premiership would be given that much time and space to juggle the ball in front of the box like that.

Haha so true @ lack of quality. For the Lennon thing I understand in some way as he is a poor loser. The only part of your post I dislike is the underlined part as it seems to suggest that somehow its Lennons fault for what he has had to go through.

As for american football I love the commentators on ESPN. Everything is just so Americanised it is funny as. The advertising is annoying as shit tho.
