This is a Tournament Players Association Year 2(TPA2) event, and is governed by its rules, guidelines, and judgments. All are welcome to join and participate in the association. You need do nothing more than join one or more of the TPA2 events that will be announced each Monday. Check back on the TPA2 scoreboard in the Tournaments--> General Info forum to see how you're doing.

You gotta love antique shops. They're filled with junk originally bought from thrift stores and garage sales that have had their prices marked up a few thousand percent and are generally populated by surly obsessive elderly folk. Well it's time to end the tyranny that has taken over the main streets of small-town USA! This is an assassin tournament which will take place on CC's antique looking maps. Players will be divided into six groups of six each, and they will try to assassinate each other in various small-town antique shops. Collateral damage is encouraged (as long as you don't kill the wrong target!) and the more noise you make the better. Settings for all games will be sequential, automatic, escalating, chained, sunny. The winners of each antique store group will meet in the finals, taking along one antique map from the store they just wrecked. In the case of a tie for group winner (or final winner) the tiebreaker will be whoever controls the highest percentage of territory on the maps of that round. In other words, whoever has done the most damage to their store. Of course you have to be careful, if you do too much damage and injure someone who's not your target you may give the game to an opponent!
When signing up, please indicate which antique shop you'd like to fight in. Antique shop groups will play one game on each map in the shop, the winner of the group will be the one with the most assassinations (and in case of a tie the player who controls the highest percentage of territory on all three maps). Group winners will meet in the finals and play on the maps they bring with them under the same rules and settings.
Premium Only as you may play up to six games at once

Settings: Six player assassin, sequential, automatic, escalating, chained, sunny
How to sign up:
Simply state which antique shop you'd like to play in. You will play one game each on the maps of your group

How to win:
Win the most games in your group while doing as much damage as possible along the way (by controlling as much territory as you can) advance to the finals and do it all again! The finals maps will consist of one chosen by each group winner from their group, so it will consist of six games.
Clarification on tiebreakers:
OK, so everyone plays three games in round one. If one player wins two or more they are the winner and go to the finals. That's simple. But what in the event of three different players winning one map each? Who is the winner? The player who controls the highest percentage of territory on ALL THREE MAPS in the group, not just the single map that player won. This method will also be used to determine our final champion in the event of a tie in the finals. Let's use the maps from Russ' Dragons and Stuff for our example. Age of Merchants has 58 total territories, Steamworks has 43 and Dawn of Ages has 46, for a grand total of 147 territories on all three maps. Player A, Player B and Player C each won a map in that group. Player A has 23 terts in Age of Merchants, 5 terts in Steamworks and 0 terts in Dawn of Ages. 23+5+0=28. 28/147= 19% total territory owned. Player B has 7 terts in Age of Merchants, 30 terts in Steamworks and 11 terts in Dawn of Ages. 7+30+11=48. 48/147= 33% total territory owned. Player C has 0 terts in Age of Merchants, 0 terts in Steamworks, and 19 terts in Dawn of Ages. 0+0+19=19. 19/147= 13% total territory owned. Who is the winner of Russ' Dragons and Stuff? Player B with his 33% total territory owned. Player B goes on to the final round, taking one of the three Russ' maps with him (players choice among those three). So it pays to own as much territory as you can, even in a losing game (though if you get too greedy you may give the game to your opponent.) Hope this is clear enough for everyone, feel free to post questions in this thread or via pm. Oh, and in the unlikely event of two players holding exactly the same percentage of territory, they both go through to the finals and the finals will expand by one game. If this occurs in the final round (extremely unlikely) the champion will be determined by who won their games in the fewest number of rounds.
Don't forget these are assassin games! If you kill a target other than your own in the first round, you will be ineligible to advance to the finals. If you kill a target other than your own in the final round, you will be disqualified from the tournament.

I would like to shop at Russ' Dragons and Stuff. Could you please clarify, though, if the maps will be AoM, Steamworks and DoA or will it be AoM, Discworld and Midgard as per your scoring example? Thanks.

The maps for Russ' Dragons and Stuff will indeed be Age of Merchants, Steamworks and Dawn of Ages. That was an editing mistake I missed in the scoring clarification paragraph--thanks for catching that for me musteriuz. I've got you in that group but feel free to let me know if you wanna change.
Everyone in to here!
