Soft enough that you didnt have to blurt it out for the inexperienced in case they are scum.

For the record, I think softclaims are bs.

Now, let me get to the meat of the issue here: Jak still seems to think he is immune to claiming. Can anyone explain to me why a doctor should get away with a softclaim and not a real claim? I bet I will blow holes in your reasoning.

Well considering he blurted out that you were correct and so claimed, I would like to blow holes in your reasoning that you think you still have a case here with that question. I suppose you could request his name, but I dont see what good that would do. Now, quit pressuring our newly claimed doctor, and find someone else.

Exactly, what is there to gain from pointing it out at all?

Fastoposted, there was no need for jak to claim soft or hard at the time. I didn't find him scummy and he didn't have many votes on him. Although now that you have, you should name claim jak.

Unless you have good grounds to suspect jak, which you openly admit you don't, then why should you out his softclaim?

YES! So do you still doubt him doom? Cause if you do, and nobody counter claims him, I must say that is grounds enough to earn my vote. Least give someone time to counter claim him if you wish to vote him.

In light of recent revelations, unvote.

As for who I will vote for, I'll decide that at a later, more convenient time for me as far as RL is concerned.

I already found someone else.

I don't still want a claim, I want players to use good logic or to admit they are wrong. Jak hasn't stated why he softclaimed with so little pressure or why a doctor is immune to claiming. Nor has anyone else.

jak, I accept your answers and had already picked up on the claim. I'm not sure Doom needed to point it out, but I don't think that it was the softest of claims and with you and pmc and doom talking about it so much, it's not like anyone with half a brain wasn't going to see it.

unvote

I want to get more information for town to work with, but if we don't have someone who is inherently scummy at the end of this day, I will say that we need to lynch jgordon.

As far as my vote goes, I don't really see that Doom pointing out the soft claim was all that scummy. However, I will pressure him because someone needs pressured for more information. If he wasn't already being pressured, I would pressure Rodion. I don't like his level of activity in this game. I have played a few with him and this behavior on Day 1, I don't like from him. vote DoomYoshi

He didnt edit any, just checking if everyone is reading or skimming, alot of info out there and people tend to start skimming rather than read all of it.

prefer everyone read all info and then give their thoughts rather than skimming and when they see a popular player's vote going with that.

If it is wrong to do so then I guess I shouldn't protect anyone?
Deleted the rest of the quote, but here it is.
I read it as protecting them by making cases in their defence?
But since he was out with the whole 'directing the doctor' thing so early on, I'm with Doom here on why even mention it if you are he? It's a completely unnecessary softclaim in my eyes...

Also, you may say you think I'm stirring the pot Doom, but I felt that whole vigorous jak and jg defensive tactics during the same hour, was something worth pointing out. And the above point of protecting each other seems to be another strange coincidence :s

It is interesting, but I'm noting it more for the fact that it's giving up a lot of submariners, I'm sure there are at 5 people with under 5 posts each in the last 300?

fastposted x2
The editing is curious, but I didn't detect it either, so if you can point it out, that'd be nice jg

fastpost,
if I didn't know better I'd say all this was scummy jg...

Leehar, he explained why he directed the doctor (himself) to someone. It was supposed to be a ploy so he could protect someone else while knowing that pmc had a chance of not dying (since scum thought he was to be protected) and so saves 2 at once, hopefully finding the one that the mafia was going to kill.

LOL leehar can you remember a single game together, where no one thought I was scum, I begining to think its my name or just the way I say things. But I dont get mad about it anymore, just got to roll with it.

My claim is who I am and I picked up on jaks post as soon as he said it and then tried to deflect attention back away from him, "I fight my fights by myself". Better for me to get picked off than lose the doc.

And now my Vote Doom for knowing the soft claim yet making sure everyone knew.

What is the point in this? By saying you don't find him scummy, you give him nothing to answer to and by saying that you are pressuring him for the sake of pressuring someone means that he feels no genuine threat from your vote. This seems like a poor excuse to join the latest BW.
DoomYoshi wrote:I don't still want a claim, I want players to use good logic or to admit they are wrong. Jak hasn't stated why he softclaimed with so little pressure or why a doctor is immune to claiming. Nor has anyone else.
I agree with you that soft claiming is in general BS but it still does not address the point. You said you did not think he was scum, so what is the purpose of outing his claim as a townie? What is to be gained?

@ghostly, I'm quite sure I unvoted my joke vote? I'll do it again: unvote ;)

I took jak's doc directions and the protect thingie as a "softclaim" too, but with the level of activity in this game, I'm quite sure that a few would've missed it so perhaps it wasn't the smartest of things to point it out.
Leehar wrote: From what I understand, shield's not in this game? But clever is?
SG7 is player four it says in the first post. He hasn't said much though. Neither have a lot of people. I'll admit that my activity is nothing compared to a few of you guys in here, but it seems that several players haven't posted for days. How do you check when a player's last post in a specific thread?

@new guy, Ok, maybe there wasn't much to be gained. After so much discussion on the subject on the fake claim, it didn't hurt though.

So now jgordon wants me modkilled as well as lynched. That is very likely to get me to switch my vote.

So chap agrees with what I have been saying and is voting me...?

@ Mod: my vote is on Jgordon, I know that vote counts are hard, one trick for catching them all is to use the "Ctrl + F" function to search for the word "Vote" on each page, also shield made a vote count program that he posted in Mafia Discussions, it's quite useful to make certain you don't list the name name twice. Good game so far, cheers and good luck in modding in the future. :D

As for weather or not I believe Jgordon's claim, it's possible, it has nothing to do with the battle of the bulge or combat in any way, so I don't see why he would be on the front lines, but I suppose it's possible, I agree with pmchugh in that the safe thing to do would either lynch him for lack of a better option, or to vig him tonight and lynch someone scummier, for now I am comfortable leaving my vote.

I can personally explain why soft-claiming a role is bad for town and good for scum, but I will not unless it is requested, as it is irrelevant to doom's own motives.

Safer to lynch me and watch who jumps on to ensure it happens.

Vig is not the best option as you need your watcher looking elsewhere at night.

I don't see it either. Jgordon asked for it though. In mafia forum you can't delete posts, so that isn't an issue. I guess I edited something. You have to ask jgordon why I should be killed though.

more skimming from all of you.

The thing I am trying to get all of you to quit doing.

Go back doom and the rest of you where I asked for you to get mod killed and read my follow up posts please.

Man you guys never learn, for some of the supposed best mafia players on CC you really dont follow anything well at all. In the real mafia games most of you would get waxed D1 for the BS you do here.

But it still humors me to watch the followers and the leaders.

The leaders are usually so sure of themselves, they overlook the obvious and go for targets that usually hurt them when the lynching begins and the followers rather than do any actual research or work on their own vote with the leaders(because of their "LOL" experience) at mafia games.

I do find it rather easy to run circles around most of you so called leaders in most games, just by my play style which you apparently cannot follow.

here is a suggestion go play the real mafia games a couple of times just to understand what I mean lol. You might then understand why I FOS instead of voting most of the time. It is sometimes a better tool than an actual vote. But enough for now, please continue.

Oh one last hint look around and see who hasnt really posted since, the ball is now bouncing in different court.
