Welcome to: The Chase I

This tournament is based on the British game show “The Chase”. In this show a team of four contestants attempt to amass as much money as possible for a team kitty by answering quick-fire questions in a 60-second round - each correct answer earns the contestant £1,000. The money earned will go towards the team kitty, but there is one person standing in their way: a quiz genius known as The Chaser. The Chaser's job is to catch each contestant and make sure the players are not able to put the money into the kitty which the team must collectively play for in 'The Final Chase'.

The Chasers:
“The Dark Destroyer” (4 U 2 NV): Antarctica, auto-deploy, no spoils, chained, foggy
“The Beast” (Chewie1): Jamaica, auto-deploy, no spoils, adjacent, foggy
“The Sinner” (Iron Maid): Imperium Romanum, auto-deploy, no spoils, adjacent, sunny, trench
“The Governess” (ljex): Classic, manual, escalating, unlimited, foggy, trench
Tournament Set-Up

Group Chase:
The 16 players will be randomly divided into 4 groups. The 4 groups will be randomly assigned to a Chaser. In other words: You will not know which Chaser and thus map and settings you will play.
The 4 players of each group will play their Chaser one by one and every player that beats their Chaser goes on to the Final Chase.
Since the Chasers get to choose their maps and settings, you, the player, will get a 1 game head start. All the group chases will be best of 5, so you only need to win 2 games to beat the Chaser, while the Chaser needs to win 3 games to beat you. I will send out the 4 games at the same time.
Final Chase:
All the players that beat their Chaser end up in the Final Chase. Here you’ll chase each other in a Round Robin format. You play every other player once on all 4 maps with the Chaser’s setting.
The player who wins the most games in the Final Chase wins the tournament. Again, I will send out the 4 games at the same time.
If we have 10 or more players, and an even amount of players, in the Final Chase the players will be divided up in 2 groups, who will each play their own Round Robin.
In case of a tie in the Final Chase, the player who won the most games against the Chaser in the Group Chase will be the winner. If that still results in a tie between 2 players, they play each other on the 4 maps until one player has 2 wins over the other player. If it’s more than 2 players, they play another Round Robin until we have a clear winner.
What’s in it for the Chasers?
The Chasers that beat all 4 of their opponents will receive a General Achievement Medal, unless all 4 Chasers beat all of their opponents. In that case the Chasers will play the Final Chase for the tournament win.
Important note:
Since this is a head-on battle between players on specific maps account sitting is only allowed in emergencies. See also “A few rules” below. For the same reason, and in the spirit of fairness, I urge you all to play your own games and not seek advice from other players.

rules
- You have 48 hours to join your games after PM is sent.
- Account sitting is only allowed in emergencies and must be announced in the game chat.
- If you break this rule or have somebody else take your turns to gain an advantage you will be disqualified from the tournament.
- If you know you’re not going to be able to take your own turns, let me know and we’ll reschedule your games.
