I think DiMateo has already landed the job.

wouldnt be so sure remember abromvich wasnts the CL more than anything and di matteo has a golden shot at getting it if he fails he could be out on his ass. remember avram grant exact same situation as di matteo but he lost in 08 to united and was sacked. if abromvichs goal is to win the CL why would he give di matteo a second shot at it if he fails.

I don't think Chelsea will win the CL. Bayern has better players, plays at home. Germans always win.

Teams players usually revolt after a boring coach is sacked. No matter who caretaker you appoint to succeed him, the team will just get a very strong spirit for a while, so it might not be a good idea to keep Di Mateo for the next season. He can still be good though, just shouldn't be measured or judged through the recent performance IMO.

not in 1998-99 , 2001-02 or 2009-10 seasons when the last german teams were in the CL final. the only exception is 2000-01 season when bayern won. i wouldnt count chelsea out but bayern at the allianz will be difficult to beat

I'm a RM fan and I knew Bayern Munchen was going to be really tough. They are always tough against RM and you had to add the motivation and obligation because the final was in Munich. But I had seen a couple of matches of BM lately and I saw they were playing well. But more than all that, the players: Roben, Ribbery, Schewnstiger, Gomez.. very good players.

Szczesny is a quality keeper. Another couple of years, and he'll be world class. You don't watch him play week in, week out. I do. He's miles better than Almunia and Fabianski. He's confident, physical, commanding, has great ball distribution and handling, not to mention fantastic shot stopping abilities. But he's still young and these qualities don't shine through 100% of the time.

I wouldn't put it past QPR to pull out a shocker and win Man City, they've managed to win Tottenham, Liverpool, Arsenal, so what's stopping them from winning Man City ?

Speaking of young keepers (re: discussion about Szczesny), keep an eye on Ryan Meara.
He's young, too, and he's playing in the MLS now (for the NY Red Bulls - my team! :D ), but he was invited to train with the Ireland U-21s and he just recorded his second consecutive clean sheet last night - against an LA Galaxy team featuring David Beckham, Robbie Keane, and Landon Donovan.
I watched last night's match: he looked incredibly confident and made several amazing saves, including this one: http://www.mlssoccer.com/matchcenter/20 ... oID=184740
Definitely a keeper to watch, especially if he moves to Europe.

I believe your Sheikh Mansour, not you Muahahah!

But hey, City do need to win this league to step up as one of the world's real giants. Today's performance was great (I just saw the 2nd half though) considering the team have some pressure as they lack the win experience! They have show a great job and a very mature mentality!

Congratulations, unless they ruined it next week.

The definition of the Calcio is today.

Right now are playing Inter vs Milan and Juve.

Inter is winning 1-0. Looks ugly for Milan.

I would like to note that during this match we were missing 6 of our 11 starters to injury or suspension (Henry, Marquez, Tainio, Keel, Miller and Conde; thats 5 defenders/defensive midfielders!)

Big props to Backe for switching to a 4-1-4-1. McCarthy has been playing his ass off and deserves to continue starting over either Marques or Tainio.

Lindpere has, too, and he deserves to stay in center midfield.

Good. If Ibra's producing in Italy, let him stay in Italy.
The last thing Madrid need is another giant ego to go with Ronaldo's. Ronaldo's alone just barely fits in the Bernabeu.

Ibrahimovic produces in any league, any team. Prior to this year, he had 8 years in a row winning championships with its team, including Ajax, Juve, Inter, Barca, Milan..

And Milan lost this championship in a very stupid way, pretty much like Man Utd did. WTF was Abate thinking...
