ok folks, this tourney will be standard 1v1 games.
this tourney will be 3 sections long, so be prepared to pack a lunch, this one may take a while.
SECTION 1;
the first bout will be scored like round robin, but it will be bracket play.
you'll get points for how far you make it in each bracket.
, there will be a total of 20 brackets, they'll go out in groups of 4,
the flow will go as such, the first round of each bracket will go out ( 8 games ), when that finishes, i'll send out the second round ( 4 games ) and the first round of the next bracket ( 8 games ). i'll do this for the first 4 brackets, then take a break letting all games finish. once all games are over, then we'll start up the next 4 sets of brackets. this will happen a total of 5 times.
the most games you may be in at one time is 4, this of course depends on how fast you play, and how much you win.
for the first round, the matchups here will be random, but once scores start to get logged, that will be your seeding. cc score will determine any ties. that will be checked at the time of the needed tiebreak.

each bracket will be single elimination
so, the scoring will go as such;
win the tourney= 8 points
win the 3rd round = 5 points
win the 2nd round = 3 points
win the first round = 1 point
lose the first round = -1 point
only your highest score counts.[/spoiler]

after all games are complete, the scores will be tallied, the top 6 will move on to the next section. tiebreakers will be played on a single elim. classic game. or if needed to break a 3 or more way tie, a standard multi player classic game with esc. spoils.
section 2
EDIT SEPT 18; after thinking about it and listening to some thoughts, i've decided to make these changes,
1) the second part of the tourney ( round robin ) will basically stay the same. you'll still play 3 games against each other, but now, wins will count for points. you'll get 2 points for every win. this is so i can award the player(s) that come out on top in the first section of the tourney.
as it is now, the top 6 scorers of section 1 move on to section 2.
i will change it so that the first and second place finishers recieve a bonus for doing so well in the brackets.
1st place will recieve 3 extra points to start.
2nd place will receive 1 extra point to start.
3rd-6th place will start at 0
so, this should help the top finishers gain an edge for their good play early. but it's also not such a lead that no one else has a chance.
this bout will be a round robin. all six players that make it this far will now go on to play each other 3 times. once on each of these boards.

settings will be the same as the even maps of section 1. foggy/no spoils
with 6 players this will be a total of 15 games. i'll send them out in 3 rounds.
so that means there will be 5 games at a time go out. i'll mix and match maps as to not bore everyone. this will be random and it really shouldn't matter. at the end of the day, you'll all have played the same maps and faced each other the same amount of times.
your win loss record will advance you to the next round. only the top 2 players move on from here to play a final set. tiebreaker games will go as in section 1

section 3
this will be where the 2 remaining players face off in a best of 15 series.
you'll each need to pick a map and settings, ( no manual/freestyle )
there will be 5 games away,
5 games at home,
and 5 games random
the random games will be the same settings as the odd number maps in section 1
the winner here will be the champ. and a master of many maps.
