can you explain what this means,

is this based upon total points per game won less points lost?
is each game worth 1 point per game won, is this affected by games lost, say minus 1 point for every game lost?
or is this simply win a game get 1 point and whoever plays and wins the most games regardless of losses wins?
or is this a winning percentage?

I ask because at some point you may need to factor in win %age vs someone that simply plays 1000 games, and wins 500, so how is that scored?, 50%win average, 500 points, or zero points based upon 500 losses to 500 wins and both wins and losses being equal
