If I boycotted all of those chains, I would eat slightly less Wendy's than I do now.Phatscotty wrote:Post 100! I win! Free Chik-Fil-A chicken sandwiches for everyone!!!!
Those are really bad photoshop jobs.Phatscotty wrote:Post 100! I win! Free Chik-Fil-A chicken sandwiches for everyone!!!!
Seriously. And it's just a matter of putting some text in there, not exactly difficult.Woodruff wrote: Those are really bad photoshop jobs.

Also, I've already been "boycotting" all of those for a couple of years now. Do you guys really regularly eat shitty fast foods?
I can get a pretty good curry for cheaper than a KFC.
I can't speak for anyone else, but...yes. We're out doing community service with the cadets all the time, so it's easier and faster to just do the fast food thing when we're done.Haggis_McMutton wrote: Also, I've already been "boycotting" all of those for a couple of years now. You say this as if it's false. I wonder why that is.Phatscotty wrote:Haggis_McMutton wrote:Seriously. And it's just a matter of putting some text in there, not exactly difficult.Woodruff wrote: Those are really bad photoshop jobs.

I can get a pretty good curry for cheaper than a KFC.Why do you hate single mothers who are working so hard they don't always have time to cook meals?
New Jersey seems to have less fast-food chains than most parts of the US. That's becuase it has about 90% of the world's "Diners".Woodruff wrote:I can't speak for anyone else, but...yes. Fair enough, I'd probably get it as well in those circumstances.Woodruff wrote:I can't speak for anyone else, but...yes. Normally, with this crowd volume you would expect short tempers and bedlam. That’s not the case today at Chick-fil-A. While the surrounding restaurant chains are empty, the people in this line are happily making a statement, talking to each other with smiles on their faces. They’re patriots taking a stand against a gross violation of our First Amendment right. And they are doing it in 100 degree temperatures.

How many communities? I'd argue that the benefits of competition by Wal-Mart offset the costs for nearly all Americans. The acceptable balance of price and quality is determined by the consumers through trial-and-error and by consumer reports and relevant information by word-of-mouth and other means. If Wal-Mart loses this balance, its consumers will shop elsewhere, thus providing a profit motive for other grocers, farmers, farmers' markets, etc., which still operate in many areas nearby Wal-Marts.PLAYER57832 wrote:BigBallinStalin wrote:One major caveat: initiating violence against others is impermissible. Most people draw the line well short of physical violance.
Also, the idea that people truly are able to fight big corporations by "fighting with their feet" is belied by corporations like Walmart. In many communities, people just don't have any other option.
I doubt the accuracy of the underlined claim, and your assertion is meaningless without a valid comparison. To claim that making the decision to not pay triple or more for the same goods (including gas/travel expenses), when you are making barely above minimum wage or perhaps even on public assistance is really a "free choice" is silly.
I'm not doing it to boycott chick-fil-a, I'd do it just to make everyone confused.Haggis_McMutton wrote:Stealing radiojake's ideas now?Army of GOD wrote:If there was a Chick-fil-a near me I'd go there, buy some food and then throw it on the ground screaming "f*ck tha police"
Nah im kinda kidding; I just eat a lot; and being time constrained sometimes that food is convienence food.Haggis_McMutton wrote:So you hate fat people AND eat shitty food all the time?Lootifer wrote:I eat shitty fast food all the time
Ok, now I get why you do all that cardio.

Excellent point. Just look at the pic Scott posted, to see how smart a move this was.spurgistan wrote:I gotta say, a fast-food chain promoting a pro-bigot agenda is not a terrible business strategy. While as a fan of American values I will never buy Chik-Fil-A food again (I have, three times. It's pretty good chicken) I can respect a solid business move.
I would disagree 100%. Outsourcing to China does not benefit us in the long run.BigBallinStalin wrote:PLAYER makes two common assertions which are important but are mistaken.

The problem with your assertion is that we should only care about "price and quality" and nothing else. I would assert that is poor logic.BigBallinStalin wrote:The acceptable balance of price and quality is determined by the consumers through trial-and-error and by consumer reports and relevant information by word-of-mouth and other means. I like how people think it's bigoted to be against something that does not exist, and never had existed, shit, it's never even been mentioned by a single historian or prominent figure since the dawn of civilization.spurgistan wrote:I gotta say, a fast-food chain promoting a pro-bigot agenda is not a terrible business strategy.
