I've been playing games recently, forgetting to check the settings, and start rolling a large stack of troops along a path, and then am left scratching my head when I can't attack any farther than the first terit I attacked.

Ok Provision needs to be made for those who join but their opponent doesn't. I'm still waiting for mine to join, surely there must be a time limit before they lose that privilege?

Agreed Oz -- I've already reached out for some immediate reserves to join the tournament -- if I don't get the reserves, I will reshuffle the players who don't have a round 1 opponent (removing those from the tournament who didn't join their games), and we'll move on with just a few less players than 70.
