Watching the local news here today, nearly everyone interviewed mentioned First Amendment right to talk / anti-cities telling people and companies what they can and can't say etc as to why they were going to support chick fil a today, and very few even mentioned pro / anti "gay marriage/traditional definition of marriage" stance at all.

The streets are filled with songs of Liberty again! The spark has become a flame and we can see how America functions post-Great American Awakening. All over the country, people are talking about freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and freedom of association...the Constitution at it's core.

This is a fine day

I never thought I'd live to see the day when an elected Democrat could actually, truly stimulate the economy.

Thank you, Rahm Emanuel.

While as a fan of American values I will never buy Chik-Fil-A food again (I have, three times. It's pretty good chicken) I can respect a solid business move.
Yeah, this was my first thought too. It'll be interesting to see the long term effect of this move.

It's ridiculous to think a CEO did something like this without considering the consequences.

I heard about this. I am not surprised the response is "let's physically throw it in their face".

However, can they do this? I ask because Chik-fil-a is not public property. Can you really take over a private business and interfere with commerce like that? Are they actually going inside the business, even though they aren't going to buy anything? What will this accomplish? How will it help their cause?

Anyone know more about this?

How are they physically throwing anything in "their" face? Surely you're ok with people kissing in a restaurant?

We each play our part. I'm following Scotty's points so that he doesn't seem so ridiculous. I'll be physically throwing lesbian couples at the faces of shop staff.

I think it'd be hilarious if a bunch of couples bought food and then made out for like 3 minutes right in front of the cash register.

Um...because they are physically going to chik-fil-a and making it a plan to kiss each other, in front of everyone's faces? wtf? What do you think the point of this is??

of course you can kiss in the restaurant. You think that's that point? :-s

but.....to intentionally go to a restaurant, just to kiss? I'm asking what that will achieve, how it will help the cause. Care to take another swing? And yes, it's the most romantic place to plan to kiss at.....a fast food restaurant?

This is bizarro

So, they're not actually physically throwing anything. Which was my point to deflate your hyperbole. I see that it's deflated you a little, but some of your hot air remains.

I'd say good on them for making a protest, and doing so in a peaceful loving manner. I don't see any reasonable objection to that. Indeed the only objection seems to be that gay folk shouldn't be seen kissing in public, and that is unreasonable.

South Park already did an episode about this. All the bikers wanted to do was make a bunch of noise and make everyone look at them because they need to be the center of attention.

May I just say the creators of South Park are geniuses

You think Chik-fil-a is a public business???????????

So, they can go into a private business and "do their thing" I guess that means religious people can go to private businesses and "do their thing" too?

it's an American slang. "throw it in your face" "shove it in your face" "make you look at something", which is exactly what they are trying to do.

LMAO

You misunderstood, you said "physically throw". Which is at best an illiteracy, and at worst a sign of hyperbolic hatred. I disagree with you, but like to think the best of your posts, so I merely highlighted how ridiculous you sounded.

I don't understand why you object to such a peaceful and loving protest. Nobody will be hurt by seeing two people kiss.

Then why is it "good for them"? Why "protest" if "it doesn't mean anything"? how bizarre

How could I be opposed to it when I clearly don't even understand what its purpose is or why? All I have been asking about is trying to understand it. All you have been doing is dodging and trolling.

Sounds like the Kiss-in is gonna be a giant Troll-in!

I wish I could. Maybe they would know what the hell they were talking about, because you are just useless!

The only Chik-Fil-A's by me are in the airport and at some University, so I could not partake in setting the world record for most food sales in 1 day, or asking gay's what they hope to accomplish by making out in a fast food restaurant. This kiss-in is so bizarre I should probably just stay the hell away.

Its a pride thing; just them getting out there being proud of their lifestyle.

And before you say "what have they got to be proud about?"; they're proud because its now becoming socially acceptable to be homosexual, something which was actually illegal up until a decade ago. Kind of a big deal if you're gay...

"Peck on the cheek/lips", I'm ok with. Making out...I'm not ok with in a restaurant, whether they're homosexual or heterosexual.
