But kudos for the totally irrelevant Obama reference.
Plus, I've never really heard of bullying described as an infection. Classic homophobia, sure, but like I said, I could let one of the stuff he said go. Mentally disordered, infected, and perverted (surely a sign that he's talking about sexuality)...
How much can you explain away?

What makes you think I haven't watched it? I saw none of the gayness, perversion, literal sickness, infection, or mental disorder that you saw.Phatscotty wrote:Remember, he has not watched the video, so a discussion about what happened in the video will yield little fruit.
No, Scotty was describing the dude he thought was gay as "infected", as per classic homophobia.john9blue wrote:wait, so homophobia qualifies as an "infection" yet the militantly intolerant liberal worldview doesn't?Symmetry wrote:He also said that he thought the guy was gay, and manipulated his posts so that it wouldn't look so bad when he started editing them. Updated from his edited posts after criticism.Phatscotty wrote:I think it provides tremendous insights into the literal sickness his head is infected with. It truly is a mental disorder and a disease.
Haven't checked in to the thread in a while, but I've got to say that it's funny that we've already gotten to the point where some random guy has become the focal point of the argument. He's a better man than you are, Gunga Din. So are you willing to walk back the homophobia yet?Phatscotty wrote:Looks like my diagnosis of his actions were spot on. The spot light is on him because of his behavior, and more so because of the consequences of his actions. It's a case-in-point demonstration about how this guy, and MANY like him, are the very thing they pretend to be fighting against. He was whipped up into a hateful frenzy, and at least he admits it.Frigidus wrote:Haven't checked in to the thread in a while, but I've got to say that it's funny that we've already gotten to the point where some random guy has become the focal point of the argument. I have been going on for about 2 weeks about Nazis and Fascists. When looking back at Hitler and Germany, many of us ask ourselves "how could the German people allow that to happen? How could they stand by and do nothing? Say nothing?" The answer was because of the power structure of the time. You COULDN'T say anything about it, unless you wanted to get shot on sight. Here, we are at the point where you can be put out of business and have many lives destroyed. Again, in a country in which just about every single citizen absolutely TREASURES our Freedom of speech, we have a movement that is seeking to redefine our Freedom, into Freedom from speech. People have remained silent, because they fear the bigotry and the bullying and the mockery of non agreeing with their hijacked redefinitions of what is politically correct and what is no longer. It's not easy to stand with courage, say what you know needs to be said. It's not easy to take constant personal attacks, character assassinations, misquotations and context dropping. In George Orwell's novel Nineteen Eighty-Four, the Two Minutes' Hate is a daily period in which Party members of the society of Oceania must watch a film depicting the Party's enemies (notably Emmanuel Goldstein and his followers) and express their hatred for them.

Or the more sane stance of being sorry for being angry? I don't see anything unusual about that.

Troll much? You should trying holding your own post in front of a mirror, then catch the irony.GreecePwns wrote:I CLEARLY CALLED A MAN I THOUGHT WAS GAY MENTALLY ILL FOR HIS ALLEGED GAYNESS AND ILL DODGE ANYONE CALLING ME OUT ON IT BECAUSE NAZIS FASCISTS AND MENTALLY ILL
Until you clarify what mental illness this man has, this is what we'll assume. Of course, you won't because you're not very good at having actual discussions but you've become very good at I DISAGREE SO NAZIS FASCISTS AND MENTALLY ILL
But that was the case according to Scotty, that's exactly what Scotty said.john9blue wrote:i would believe him if he suddenly blew up in anger for whatever reason (even though it still would have been indicative of his true beliefs)Symmetry wrote:Change from what? but that was not the case at all. his harassment of the chick-fil-a employee was premeditated, without a doubt. he knew exactly what he was doing and i doubt he has changed his views since then... unless the disapproval of many thousands of people has caused him to change his views, in which case he is a sheep and doesn't deserve my respect anyway.
my post had nothing to do with what scotty said. i was responding to your assertion that he was "sorry for being angry"Symmetry wrote:But that was the case according to Scotty, that's exactly what Scotty said.john9blue wrote:i would believe him if he suddenly blew up in anger for whatever reason (even though it still would have been indicative of his true beliefs)Symmetry wrote:Change from what? I even quoted Scotty directly on this.
Being annoyed at the dude in a video doesn't really excuse blatant homophobia. What would you require for homophobia to be more apparent?
Cause we have here Scotty saying that he thinks a dude is gay, perverted, mentally ill, and infected for having an argument with a lady in a take out booth.
Then lying about his posts once I pointed out that calling a guy he thinks is gay mentally ill, infected, and perverted kinda homophobic.
What has Scotty done to earn this level of respect from you?

I think you're being generous, but I can see that you took it in a different way than I did, especially given the dishonest edit stuff which was pretty much designed to mislead folks.john9blue wrote:obviously there's some ambiguity about what scotty meant
and i didn't see his edits
so i guess i'm going to believe that scotty doesn't think homosexuality is actually an infection because (presumably) he has a basic understanding of germ theory
my guess is that "infection" was referring, like i said earlier, to a militant liberal mindset
No, there isn't any ambiguity. Symmetry edited together 3 or 4 separate posts of mine to make fit his own 100% dishonest perception. I don't mind him being a complete jackass in public, ruining his own credibility. I take it as a compliment, all the way. People don't fall on the sword like that over what some particular "idiot" says abut some social issue. He does it because he must stop the idiot from speaking at all costs, no matter how low he needs to go.john9blue wrote:obviously there's some ambiguity about what scotty meant
