Welcome to Chop's similar re-enactment of the 1929-30 NHL ice hockey season. It was a league comprised of ten teams in two divisions (Canadian and American divisions where, strangely the New York Americans played in the Canadian division!) playing 44 games followed by a playoff system where the top three teams from each divison battled for the Stanley Cup - in a rather strange playoff system.
I will reduce the regular season to a doubles team 1 vs 1 round robin where each team plays each other once - no divisional significance, meaning all players pay each other once. Playoff seedings will be determined according to the odd system in place in 1929-30 (I love history!)
I have made this a doubles tourney. If you have a favoured doubles partner please join with them. If you are a single - I will random assign you a doubles player for the duration of the tourney
Playoffs: 1. Division winners have a bye in the quarters and play each other in semis 2. Divisional bridesmaids play each other in quarters and advance to play winner of 3rd place 1/4s 3. 3rd place in division play each with winner to play winner of 2nd place 1/4s 4. Winner of 1. plays winner of 3. (All playoff games are best of three to be run concurently)
In honour of the Montreal Canadiens winning the Cup that year, the chosen map will be the Montreal Map.
Settings: sequential, unlimited, sunny, escalating, no trench.
13 rounds in a game constitutes a tie. Divisional rankings will be determined by tallying up 2 points for a win and 1 point for a tie. Divisional Tiebreakers: most team wins, fewest losses, head-to-head advantage, fewest number of rounds played for victories - 1 vs 1 playoff if still tied.
There will be numerous games running concurrently so, unfortunately, freemiums are precluded from this tourney.
I am asking doubles teams to choose a team. (If not bothered about team, just ask to join and random team will be assigned.)

Tournament rules require 16 players for a tournament. However, exceptions are sometimes made for certain sports tournaments (like this one). I am aware of no exception yet for this tournament. If you would like an exception, you need to speak with Serbia.
Ok, Chap, I will ask Serb. All in all, the tourney victor will have to play 9 round robin games and potentially as few as 4 or as many as 5 playoff games. So, a minimum of 13 and a maximum of 14 games to win the cup.

It looks like you've taken greenoaks' advice. That's fine. Make sure to update the first post so everything is changed to a doubles format, instead of 1v1.
