Make a Champion Doubles Tournament [CANCELED]

Post by nicestash »

THIS IS MEANT TO BE A 2 PART TOURNAMENT: PLEASE JOIN THE “TRAIN A NOOB” TOURNAMENT AS WELL

The Train a Noob Tournament can be found here: http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=90&t=177115
This tournament will be composed of 8 doubles teams and will be a single elimination bracket style tournament. Partners will be randomly selected through random.org. THERE WILL BE A PRACTICE GAME TO GET TO KNOW YOUR PARTNER.

All players must have completed less than 200 games, have a score of less than 1500 points, and not have any teammate medals. Players who are also competing in the “Train a Noob” tournament will be allowed to bring their mentor aboard. The mentor will not play, but a General Achievement medal stating “I chained a Champion” will be awarded if their trainee wins.

The winning team will gain a tournament medal “Not a Noob, but a Champion”

All games will be played on the classic map with CC settings.

Once again, I entreat everyone to please sign up for both this tournament and the “Train a Noob” tournament.

Wouldn't this tournament be more suited to be a Round robbin style then it would really be able to help your "noobs" learn how to play.

Another option might be able to change the requirements to having the noob not have any team medals if they are over 100 games.

Just my suggestions. Anyway good luck with the tournament.

I saw no problem with your other tournament.

As for this one, it says 8 teams, but you have 16 spots available... Are just the noobs playing?

Also, tournament players have to sign up for each tournament. You can not sign up in one thread for both tournaments. So, you may not automatically move people to your other tournament as well.

As far as a General Achievement Medal goes, you need to talk to DJ Teflon first. He is in charge of those. From my perspective, the mentor shouldn't get one. The only reason he gets one is because someone else wins...

It is only 8 teams, but you can't apply with a teammate-your teammate is randomly chosen.
I was only going to automatically move people that didn't actually have to play. I figured by giving a General Achievement medal to the mentors, they will be more incented to actually teach their partner. Merch told me he would be checking with Dj about the General Achievement medal as well.
Skillfusniper-that sounds like an excellent idea. I'll add it right now.

Thanks for the clarification on the players/teams.

You can ask for the GA. That's fine. I'm just saying my opinion about it. Also, it is best to not announce GA in the thread until approved.

You still can not automatically move anyone.

Ok. I talked to merch before settings this up and he said my chances were very high of getting the GA medal approved

I will pick up woodsy as my noob partner. Will do both tournaments with him if he is signed up for the other one as well.

As with the other thread, I'd like to join but I'm not sure that I fit. I've only completed 73 games atm but they've gone well enough to give me a score of 1600 so far... Doubles would be a new game type for me though (last time I played was years ago).

Again, thanks for your consideration. hehe :)

EDIT:
Due to an account issue I've been stripped of Premium and, although I've opened a ticket, the issue looks like it will not be corrected. I'm unable to join games now, so I'll need to drop. Very sorry.
