You just posted this as an excuse to say "ODNSWITF", didn't you ?john9blue wrote:guys, let's just compromise and split ODNSWITF into 1.5 forums.

I would absolutely refuse to post in a forum titled "Science and Religion," as if the only thing worth discussing in that forum is which one is "right."Gillipig wrote:Indeed, but the thing is most talk related to science on this site, is talks about science in relation to religion, either how it is not compatible, or that it is. I made a suggestion to further divide off topics into "Politics" and "Science and Religion"" here: http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewto ... 4&t=184580

Speaking for the people I can tell you that no, we don't. It's a good suggestion that is continually worked against by a handful of obsessed forum goers who want chaos in the off topics.Ray Rider wrote:This suggestion comes up about once every two months or so, and every time it's roundly rejected. Please link me to threads about science that doesn't in some way involve religion.Metsfanmax wrote:I would absolutely refuse to post in a forum titled "Science and Religion," as if the only thing worth discussing in that forum is which one is "right."Gillipig wrote:Indeed, but the thing is most talk related to science on this site, is talks about science in relation to religion, either how it is not compatible, or that it is. Lol one of those were exactly the type of thread I was refering to.If the title "Church wants to clone Neanderthals" doesn't make you understand it's about science in relation to religion, I don't know what will.Metsfanmax wrote:Just on the first page:Gillipig wrote:Please link me to threads about science that doesn't in some way involve religion.Metsfanmax wrote:I would absolutely refuse to post in a forum titled "Science and Religion," as if the only thing worth discussing in that forum is which one is "right."Gillipig wrote:Indeed, but the thing is most talk related to science on this site, is talks about science in relation to religion, either how it is not compatible, or that it is. I'm not a moderator anymore, and I can tell you when I was a moderator we did not make the decision.Gillipig wrote:Especially the moderators and adminsitrators. You guys are the worst.
No but you are obsessed forum goers who don't like this suggestion. Which if you read was all I claimed.thegreekdog wrote:I'm not a moderator anymore, and I can tell you when I was a moderator we did not make the decision.Gillipig wrote:Especially the moderators and adminsitrators. The most active people in off-topics don't want this to happen. So it's probably not gonna happen.Gillipig wrote:No but you are obsessed forum goers who don't like this suggestion. The most active people in the off topics are also those most satisfied with the current situation. If they weren't they wouldn't post so much.Haggis_McMutton wrote:The most active people in off-topics don't want this to happen. It would only make off-topics smaller, more divisive and less active anyway.
So if the biggest customers of the current situation are satisfied, why make a change?Gillipig wrote:The most active people in the off topics are also those most satisfied with the current situation. Cause he doesn't like it and therefore it is fundamentally wrong.Metsfanmax wrote:So if the biggest customers of the current situation are satisfied, why make a change?Gillipig wrote:The most active people in the off topics are also those most satisfied with the current situation. Actually, I don't care. I'm indifferent. I do and have make the argument that complaining about the forum and its content is stupid when you can (a) choose not to read something and (b) post something of your own. In other words, you control the content of the forum and you control what you read. So why complain?Gillipig wrote:No but you are obsessed forum goers who don't like this suggestion. So that the many more who doesn't like it might pick up an interest. Off topics now is just about Religion and Politics, if those were separated from other ropics, the people who don't like to discuss religion or politics wouldn't have to have others propaganda shoved down their throat whenever they visit the off topics. Which not coincidently would make them more interested in visiting off topics. Besides, the religion nuts and the politics nuts would still get to discuss what they want to discuss, just not shove it down other peoples throats all the time. They scare people away from the off topics.Metsfanmax wrote:So if the biggest customers of the current situation are satisfied, why make a change?Gillipig wrote:The most active people in the off topics are also those most satisfied with the current situation. So I assume you have some kind of proof to back up these claims?Gillipig wrote: So that the many more who doesn't like it might pick up an interest. I haven't done a scientific study about it if that's what you expected lol. What is it that you doubt? That the majority of the off topic threads are about either religion or politics? That the majority of people don't like to have others political and religious propaganda shoved down their throats? That they leave when they can't get away from that? That they would be more interested to use this part of the forum if they didn't have to be put through that anymore?Haggis_McMutton wrote:So I assume you have some kind of proof to back up these claims?Gillipig wrote: So that the many more who doesn't like it might pick up an interest.
