Castle Bombardment?

On the Map FEUDAL WAR (NOT Feudal Epic) it says Castles can Bombard NON ADJACENT PROVINCES. I just lost 78 men and was 3 to 4 squares away. It doesn't give a Formula for how it is figured on strength....like how many men in the Castle X 3 + hitting power. With that small map you can only attack one way in and if he puts all his men in the Castle every turn you can't do anything but have a draw, as I ouwn twice as much as he does....

Any help or suggestions on how this works?

The castle can only bombarded terrs in its bonus area (called castle name 1, 2, 3 etc). Build your stack outside this area. Maybe fort your stack forward from your castle when you are ready. In a single move go in all the way to attack and take that castle. Bombardment works by the normal dice rules so the other guy will have lost a lot of troops too and will be weak now.
