I don't play all that often but a game I am currently in has seen two players get upset about a truce being formed and went off with all kinds of homophobic slurs and extremely childish rants (including accusing me of having a small "wee-wee").
I am fine with a difference of opinion on strategy (although I still don't understand their problem in this case) but to go off in such an immature way seems to be a really bad thing for the overall site. I know this is the Internet and it really doesn't bother me as I feel I can outwit this type of immaturity in my sleep but I know of a lot of people who enjoy face to face board games who would find this type of behavior to be enough to make them leave the site and never come back. Even if they were not the target of it.
Is this the type of player that is now hanging around this site? Doesn't this type of player end up chasing away most of the mature people?
nope. the immature don't get very far on this website. They may be in games that involve lots of luck like speed assassin games or flat rate games on Luxemburg. But when you get to real strategy games they are non-existant.
Well both of these guys seem competent at the game (one has a ton of games played and won). I am just surprised at the amount of bullying and outright hostile comments of a personal nature. I don't remember so much of it the last time I was here.
You realize I am not actually complaining about 12 year-olds right? It's really just a way of saying people who come here and act like 12 year olds.
Isn't this the place to ask/complain about this type of stuff? I'm not dragging anyone through the mud specifically or trying to get anyone banned, just asking/commenting on what appears to be a drop in maturity (or maybe I was just unlucky).
Why do you have a problem with this topic? Do you think that type of "witty banter" is appropriate?
The only person I've ever met on this site that was completely immature because of his age was Pitrules88, and he's gone now. Probably the most immature and annoying person I've met in my life to be honest. Now if we're talking about people who act 12, there's alot of them. I've never been accused of having a small wee-wee, but anybody who does can get sent a picture of it for proof that it's well above average
