I think we all know songs that refer to certain US state as their main theme. Can we find a song representing each state? You can post another song about a same state if it's really better! I'll update the OP, if you think you've got a better song for a given state it can be switched!

reminds me that the french actress Isabelle Adjani (who is gorgeous by the way) made a song about Ohio in the 80's, but I think that Neil Young wins the Ohio caucus!
i could have written 3 posts with one song each or one post with 3 songs. The latter seemed less spammy in my mind. Don't tell me I could only pick one because music's meant to be heard not picked between in a one out of three contest. It was already difficult enough to choose between the Allman Brothers version and the Blind Willie Mctell version.
I was also thinking "I wonder what songs there are about Alaska." This is the first one I stumbled upon:
