Toggle Dead Setting

Post by Gilligan »

Concise description:
  • Have the Toggle Dead setting listed as a permanent setting of the personal menu's Game Settings
Specifics/Details:
  • Just like color codes, indicators, map size, etc, it would be nice to have a toggle dead setting to leave it also permanent.
How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
  • Saves users that like this feature from clicking each time they want to see it. For those that want to use it sometimes, this does not affect them as they can set it to Off and turn it On whenever they like. Especially with the new implemented 12p games, the stats in-game can get a bit clustered and removing a lot of zeroes makes it clearer.

Coming back to this, my one qualm is that you may not realize someone was killed in a game if it's not a toggle for each game. So, I wonder if that's an issue.

You mean going into a game and not noticing if someone got killed in the last turn?

Right, because they are toggled off.

It would still show up in the summary. Further you could still manually toggle it back on (just like color codes & indicators). This would just be the option for default just like those toggles have.

Yeah, if I noticed colors missing I'd look back in the long...actually I would probably do it anyway. While it's a totally valid point, people don't have to use it.

This is actually how I meant the original rule to be proposed. Some players might use it less though if it is default for all games. I would still use it.

It wouldn't be default, you'd have the option in Game Settings page to keep it always on or always off, like colorcodes and indicators. It wouldn't change a thing to anyone using it right now.

What I mean is, if you switch it off in Game Settings, then the default is for it to be on. I can imagine less people would use it if it started toggling dead in their other games, and would therefore switch it to how it is now, off unless you click it.

Gilligan was saying that the players would have to go and manually switch to "Default to Hide Dead" as the default of the default would be off. You don't switch it off in user settings you switch it on.

Yeah, default off would make more sense, as Doom stated. You would then have the option to turn it on.
