Auto advise 4 active BETA games there are gameplay changes

Concise description:

• A need to advise current players on a BETA map when gameplay/graphics/xml conditions are altered

Specifics/Details:

• Players could be advised either in the Comments field of active games, or via a PM that the BETA map they are playing has changes made to it for whatever reason

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:

• Keeps active players in BETA maps in the loop
• Allows active players to follow changes more adequately
• Enhances the player's experience
• Allows active players to follow changes better if they follow up through the map thread.

One of the Beta maps I am playing has gone though changes. I have no idea of what those changes are. If I tell you the name of the map, will you tell me the changes?

ooooh! i think that constitutes bribery doesn't it.
you have 9 beta maps in play, 2 of which are mine...and i hate to say this but you know where the map foundry is and i guess since you're playing you can read.
so rather than me pamper you, which might lead to everyone else wanting to be pampered, i direct you to the map foundry Fenwix.
you'll find the changes for both maps on the last 3-4 pages of each map

No need for nanny stuff.
When you are designing a map, you do it right?At least many people do it.
Something like..."changed now opacity of x regions and created a connection between x and y"
So i dont see a problem doing it on gameplay stage. I believe its much more important now since
And i believe it will perfectly on your persuit to get more people involved in the foundry

No it's not the same as admin annoucing stuff.
Admin announcing stuff have to put it in a message thread because that is where it belongs.
But i don't see any admins sending out PMs to each player about what changes are what...it is done on the thread which everyone has to read, and only the lazy bury their heads in the sand or howl with protestations.

Same applies here..changes made to a map are in the map thread.
You are lucky you even got that little message from me to say there were changes because it is the first time i have done that in 40 maps.

Everyone knows that the changes are always disussed in the map thread in the foundry and that is where you look for details. Change can happen at any time in BETA.
I think like some others you Armandolas are just being picky and very lazy which i why i gave the above statement...do you want me to also wipe your bum next time?

If you were one of my generals in the board-room in RL...you'd immediately be sacked for not having read the brief.
Get over it...move on and learn to read.

And that's my stance until such time as the new owners change the policy with maybe the possibility of this suggestion fixing that situation.

Never mentioned any pms to be sent.
Just a post in the Map thread saying what changes were made...just after the update is live.

And the reason why i support your request for this suggestion is to save you from have to go to every game and post a msg for yourself instead a of "official warning"

It is annonunced mannually, by him, but just because he bothered to go game by game
I believe the request here is to have it officially announced to any game been played or every player currently playing that map

as stated, BigWham asked me to put this suggestion up, so he can attend to it, so i guess he has intentions of automating this process somewhow.

Well, as a player, I'd like to see some kind of pop up message that happens when you go to a game with a map that has undergone a change in the XML/graphics. The pop up would contain a little description of what happened. Or a link to the map thread post with a description.

being told there is or was a bug is not helpful. Being told there was a bug and it has been fixed and how it has bee fixed is helpful.
