phpFreeChat Update?

Post by MajorTom 555 »

Concise description:
  • The New phpFreeChat is more up to date and has more features/improvements
Specifics/Details:
  • Currently the version (v1.3) that we use is 3 years old and is very basic and the Current version (v2.1.0) is a few months old and a whole lot more advanced and has alot of performance inprovments.
How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
  • The new one (v2.1.0) is alot better in the UI and has alot of network performance improvements so i shouldn't put as much pressure on the rest of the site especially when there is a big event in Live Chat.

v2.1.0 is still a beta version, and as such is missing a lot of features.

The entire v2 series is missing features, so until they get something more stable, it's not feasible for us to upgrade.

Well damn... but then there is the last option of staying in v1 and going from v1.3 to v1.7?

This is possible. I haven't looked extensively into the later releases of v1 as I knew that v2 was in development (and honestly, I had expected a bit more progress by now).
