I implicitly referred to the delay, dude. The point is that someone can still deploy first and get a cheap kill. And yes, the current delay at least makes lessens cheap kills. But what I'm doing is taking an innovation and coming up with a way to get it better. Perhaps, you should regard that matter instead of bringing your personal baggage to the suggestions board.iAmCaffeine wrote:There is a 20sec delay to ensure you're ready in time. Just don't suck at freestyle and it won't be a problem.ViperOverLord wrote:I implicitly referred to the delay, dude. The point is that someone can still deploy first and get a cheap kill. You can check your baggage, too. Except it doesn't. Why do non-freestylers always think they know what's best for freestyle?ViperOverLord wrote:You can check your baggage, too. Okay, not that I consider myself a 'freestyler'; but I am 324-222 (59%) in 1v1 freestyle games. But that aside, I don't need to be a 'freestyler' to be able to make a very simple observation that improves the game. How about you actually regard the idea instead of berating me with ad hominem attacks.iAmCaffeine wrote:Except it doesn't. Except that it's not. A player would have to win at even numbers to start instead of double numbers; and it would keep more players in games during round 1, which is a very warranted improvement, imo.iAmCaffeine wrote:I have regarded the idea. It is pointless.
EXACTLY!! It's the non-freestylers that have already fucked up freestyle enough as it is.iAmCaffeine wrote:Except it doesn't. Why don't you just play sequential? Why are non-freestylers always trying to turn freestyle into sequential?ViperOverLord wrote:Except that it's not. Okay, well. My idea was especially for BR, which is more of a community thing than a 'freestyler' thing. Furthermore, I don't think it's objectionable to have an equitable distribution before attacking in either event. If you're mad that improvements have limited your ability to cheese, well I don't care.demonfork wrote:Why don't you just play sequential? They're not improvements, they're changes, bad ones.ViperOverLord wrote:Okay, well. My idea was especially for BR, which is more of a community thing than a 'freestyler' thing. There's no need for insults, and I didn't post in suggestions for your entertainment; so stop justifying your bad behavior.iAmCaffeine wrote:They're not improvements, they're changes, bad ones.ViperOverLord wrote:Okay, well. Of course we can hold an argument without any insults, but it's much less entertaining.
Basically, your suggestions falls flat on its arse and back up the hill with Jack & Jill because the one second slower you are to deploy and attack, you're still going to be that second slower to attack when your new delay is up.

Allowing a time to deploy during round 1 (during a time that is already allocated as a non-attack time) diminishes nothing. There's nothing great about a player being eliminated from a game before he clicks his mouse.iAmCaffeine wrote:You're just gradually diminishing the greatness of freestyle, bit by bit. I won't comment on this any further, see what others think. I can assure you however, that will only help to kill the already dwindling group of regular freestylers.
Popularity of freestyle has not increased since the introduction of a delay, and the issue you're describing is only suitable for Battle Royales, a once a year thing.. Pointless.ViperOverLord wrote:Allowing a time to deploy during round 1 (during a time that is already allocated as a non-attack time) diminishes nothing. In the end, the fastest clickers still have a great advantage; and that is why freestyle will always be a relatively small group, imo. It's not dwindling. It's always been small. And frankly, this is just one innovation that will actually increase the willingness of players to do freestyle.

Whether or not the volume of freestyle has increased (and I don't know either way); I think people see the delay as a positive thing. Starting at the the same time is just inherently fair. And if its feasible, so is allowing people to deploy during the attack delay. I don't know if I'd want that for all freestyle games or not. I think it's especially applicable for battle royale games. And these mass battle royales are done every year, so calling it pointless is just not true (as this affects literally thousands of games going forward).iAmCaffeine wrote:Popularity of freestyle has not increased since the introduction of a delay, and the issue you're describing is only suitable for Battle Royales, a once a year thing.. You're sayin a whole lot of nothing. The same blanket statements with no reasoning whatsoever.iAmCaffeine wrote:Yes we have, it detracts from what freestyle is all about.. There isn't anything else that needs to be said. Sequential players should stay out.
