I think this is the best AND most efficient way. If you want to quick check if you upped or dropped a couple places, then no need to click.
If you see yourself at Place 430, and want to see how many points you need to get in top 400, then you can click your score and it jumps to that page on the scoreboard.

Yep, that is a weak one. Anyone that cannot wait the half second for it to load up is seriously in need of a patience transplant.

You also cannot assume they are on a laptop, always look to have the functionality transferrable to iphones and etc without having to do the work twice.
