Ive been having internet problems lately and I know some of u are really good with comps so I thought id try here. My internet intermittently goes to "limited connection" and it will always go limited when I stream, download or try to play league of legends. the router im connected to IS NOT MINE I share it with my downstairs neighbour but she wont let me unplug and re plug in her router cuz apparently I cost her too much money. Is there any repair to this?I don't know the router username or password. Thx in advance

You could probably login and reset her router remotely but i guess the big question is, why have you costed her so much money? Are you stealing her internet or just breaking too many dishes? But yeah, a reset of the router will usually fix the problems but of course, there are a few unknowns such as, wireless.

Im not really stealing her internet as she let me use it for free before, she gave me her wireless network and pass without me asking but now I guess she kinda changed her mind. But I just wanna use it for another week and a half or so before I get my own connection, I have homework to do and using public internet isn't the most fun thing to do

She wont let me touch the router, as she is 85 and thinks itll screw her internet up ive asked her 2 or 3 times. is there a way to reset router without physically touching the router?

You could try logging into the router to do so. It might be located on 192.168.2.1 or 192.168.1.1, for example. If you know what model router it is, you can look up what the default username and password would be; she probably has not changed it.

Ive gone through all the default users/pass, her husband was good with computers but recently passes away sooo I think he changed it.

Well..... I'm not gonna show ya how to do it, but there's programs out there which will eventually get you into the router. Google "brute force" and "router." A Science skill of at least 130% is required.

If you know that old lady's last four social security digits, you can call up the ISP and have them reset the connection for you. You'll need a charisma of at least 8, and the Smooth Talker perk always helps; otherwise, you won't get the desired dialogue option.

Make sure it's the router and not your computer. Try downloading the same stuff on other devices.

Update your wireless driver. (Uninstall the old one first, then install the new one).


If none of that works, it could just be that the router or cable modem are past their prime.
